This was a bad idea.
But Obi-Wan wasn't going to hide from Anakin. It would have been futile to do so. The Force brought everything full circle, and from the moment Obi-Wan discovered that his former Padawan was the disturbance he'd felt in the Force, he knew the two of them would find themselves face-to-face eventually. It was just a matter of how long they wanted to wait before doing so.
Obi-Wan had a number of anxieties about seeing Anakin again. And their meeting would be a true test of his emotions; a test of how far he'd progressed in his training since that fateful day on Mustafar. Patience. This was one of the hardest mantras of the Code for a Jedi to accept (or to become proficient in.) And one of the hardest to stay faithful to. There is no emotion, there is peace. Unlike his master, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan had proved very good at obeying this commandment over the years. However, he'd never been tested against it as he would be today. This would be the ultimate show of his patience, his lack of vengeance, and his calm spirit.
And he hoped above all things that his lightsaber stayed on his waist.
There was no real proof that today would be the day that the two of them found each other, but Obi-Wan could feel the tension in the Force. If not today, then soon. Obi-Wan also knew that unless he seriously provoked his former Padawan, Anakin wouldn't actively seek him out. And the same could be said of Obi-Wan. He wasn't fool enough to go looking for Anakin. That kind of offensive behavior could only lead to trouble. And trouble was something that the Jedi desperately hoped to avoid.
But the two of them needed to see each other. Neither of them would feel comfortable or at ease in this world without having had the opportunity to speak their minds to the other on matters of the past, present, and future. They would only become paranoid and restless, waiting for the inevitable. And Obi-Wan didn't want to live that way. He wanted closure. Or as much closure as Anakin would allow.
So to avoid the problem of provoking the other into showing themselves, Obi-Wan put himself out there for Anakin to find. It was a subtle gesture that Anakin would surely recognize. And then it would be up to Anakin to determine the second move; whether to meet with his old master or stay away. Of course, there was the difficulty of a location. Los Angeles was a heavily populated city, and Obi-Wan wanted to ensure that the two of them had their privacy and their space. In the event that something other than talking were to occur.
And that's how he found Dodger Stadium. It had been closed for the day. No games scheduled until next week, and practices were over by the early morning. That evening it was just a quite open sports auditorium with rows and rows of empty seats. And Obi-Wan took to meditating on the pitcher's mound as he waited, watching as a few stars began to peek out in the early evening sky.
