Ministry Gala Event!
Characters: OPEN TO ALL. Please tag with your own character(s) when you comment/they arrive.
Setting: The Ministry Atrium, Level 8, beginning at 7 PM and running until midnight
Summary: It's the Halloween ministry gala/party! Come in costume (muggle or otherwise), in elegant wear, or in dress robes. The event begins at 7PM with refreshments, appetizers, finger foods and cocktails. Desserts are served later in the evening, but the cocktails remain available all night long. There is no full dinner, as it would be quite unwieldy with the amount of people expected to attend. The dance floor is open, a live band is playing, and the atmosphere is almost aggressively pleasant. For safety reasons, wands are being checked (surrendered) at the entrances. Unless your character is on-duty at the party, he or she will not have her wand on his/her person after entering.
Rating: Let's go with R for now, as there will be some dark occurrences later in the evening. We will update as necessary.

The event coordinators at the Ministry of Magic were in fine form in the hours leading up to the start of the gala. Everything had to be perfect, and not just in appearances. The atrium had been decorated in gold and silver, slightly reflective, to capture light and brighten the large, spacious room. The band was in place by 6:30, playing quiet music that set the mood. Off to either side, slightly out of the way, were two cocktail tables, fully stocked. There was also a number of wait staff who would be walking around with trays of red or white wine as well as champagne.

The attention to the decor was due to the head events coordinator, one Ismay Plimpton, who was an absolute perfectionist. With attention down to the very last detail, she was very nearly driving the Minister mad with her questions and comments, not to mention crucial changes. Her voice and general looks had Kingsley Shacklebolt nearly thinking her related to Delores Umbridge, if Ismay weren't so remarkably pleasant and likable.

With his assurance that everything was just fine, Ismay hurried off, gently but firmly reprimanding some poor chap setting candles afloat too low for her liking. The ceiling above twinkled like night stars, and between that, the candles, and the reflective decorations, the room was perfectly lit.

Everything was ready. All they needed now were the guests.

	Justin's smile widened into a grin as the young lady's identity was revealed. "I knew I knew that voice," he said, "but I just couldn't place it." He didn't let go of her at all, in fact drew her closer into a cross between a dancing hold and a hug. "I'm glad to see I didn't have to come drag you here tonight. You've been keeping busy?" Bianca couldn't help emitting a squeak when Justin pulled her closer. Yes he was a good friend but this was a bit...close. "Well, yes, actually I had to be here." She looked over at her camera. "I um, had to take pictures for Witch Weekly." Right now, she was out of her element, with the close dancing. She didn't quite meet Justin's eyes, and instead tried to focus on not going even redder.

"Yes, I've been busy. Busier than usual actually," she admitted, "Orders are picking up at the bakery." She was baking more which made her happy, but she wondered if she'd one day have to choose between photography and baking.

"Oooh, pictures," he replied with a grin. "If you need any of me, I'd be more than happy to pose for a few. With or without my costume."

He could feel the warmth from her cheek and guessed she was blushing. Not that unusual - Justin tended to make most people blush. He took it as a compliment, as usual, and turned her on the dance floor.

"Busy is good," he said, "but just remember - all work and no play makes Bianca Percy Weasley." He smirked. "And while that bloke might not be too hard on the eyes, you've definitely got quite a few nice bits that he doesn't."

He slid his face back so that they were no longer cheek to cheek, and his lips were but a hair's breadth from hers. "You know, I could keep you busy too..." It was an offer he'd made before, and would likely make again.

Bianca had to smile a little at that. She should actually get a picture of him. Witch Weekly might appreciate it. Some of its readers surely would. "All right, but with the costume, please," she responded, still blushing.

She let Justin turn her, listening to him talk about Percy. She didn't know Percy well at all, but she didn't see what was supposedly so wrong about him. But then Justin mentioned her bits and she flushed deeper. "Justin! Don't talk about my...bits!"

Oh my, it was getting worse. That last thing he said made her warm and slightly uncomfortable but not really in a bad way at all. Bianca was completely tongue-tied and her only response was a muffled sound as he dropped her head lower, forehead actually against Justin's skin. She never really knew what to say when he said things like that. So maybe a few times, she'd actually responded, because really, he was very attractive and she was more comfortable with him than any stranger who might flirt with her. If he wanted to kiss her, she was likely to say yes from time to time. It was more than that that she was uncomfortable with.

One of the things he enjoyed about Bianca was the sense of innocence about her. There were times when he flirted that she reminded him of the fourteen year old he'd watched in the Common Room at school, and it made him feel decidedly like a dirty old man for even thinking impure thoughts about her. But she wasn't a schoolgirl any longer, and while he was most certaly a dirty man, he wasn't old by any means.

He wondered if she even knew how endearing she was. He found few women did. Men, on the other hand, had quite the aggrandized view of their own attractiveness.

He kissed her forehead where it pressed against his skin, then moved to kiss her temple. He nuzzled the tip of his nose against her cheek, moving down toward her jawline. Silently, his actions asked permission to kiss her properly.

Oh. Oh my, he was kissing her. Maybe it was just her forehead, her temple, her cheek and jaw, but it was making her feel quite warm and fuzzy. She could hear his unspoken question and after a brief hesitation, she lifted her head, face upturned to his.

She didn't move away, but she didn't move any closer either. Her heart fluttered in her chest and she couldn't quite meet Justin's eyes, but permission was given. It was just a little kiss; the fact that they were in public wasn't such a big deal, right?

	Justin didn't waste any time. The moment the subtle assent was given, he moved in with a gentle yet passionate kiss to her lips. Their dancing slowed as he nearly stopped, only just waving in time to the music. His hands slid to her waist, thumbs massaging circles against her dress as he pulled her closer still. And suddenly, just like that, Justin was kissing her. She'd caved in before, let him kiss her, and she'd liked it. It was the main reason she was letting him do it again. She didn't have much to compare to, but he seemed quite good at it.

She however, was just as unskilled as she'd been the first time - she didn't exactly get much practice. But she responded, leaning in a little closer and making a little humming sound against his lips. It was nice. It was really nice.

Justin smiled at the feel of her humming in pleasure. He never minded inexperience in a partner as long as they were enthusiastic. He'd spent quite enough time in his life as the student, and now that he was more experienced, he cherished the time he spent as the teacher.

Besides, playing teacher/student was definitely a lot of fun, whatever the roles.

His hands slid from her waist up her back, accidentally bumping into her wings but quickly adjusting for them. He pulled out of the kiss to take in a breath, and affectionately brushed his nose against hers.

"How 'bout we grab your camera and see if we can find someplace private," he suggested. Not that he wouldn't have minded the audience - in fact he'd have quite enjoyed it - but he doubted she was anywhere near ready for something like that.

When Justin gently broke the kiss, Bianca's eyes opened. She was still flushed, and slightly dazed, but it didn't take long for her to remember just where she was and what had just happened. In fact, she even noticed that their were people glancing at them, and she was extremely glad she had a mask on. Perhaps no one - except Hannah of course - might even know that was her kissing Justin on the dance floor.

He mentioned her camera, and she took a half-step back when she realised what he was asking. "Oh...n-no, I can't. i mean. I have to - I'm still working. And I...I can't." Whether or not she was working wasn't the issue. Bianca was not at all in any way prepared to do more than just a bit of kissing, not casually anyway.

She looked up at him, her dark grey eyes gone even darker and bit her lip.

Bianca wasn't sure what to say to that. She shook her head numbly. "I mean I should just...finish and go home after. I mean." She looked up at Justin and immediately broke eye contact. Those kisses were lovely, really, but she knew what they lead to - she read plenty of Jasmine King, after all. But she wasn't ready for that.

"I'm s-sorry," she apologised, her face still red, still hot, and she looked up, this time going to move off the dance floor and get away before she embarrassed herself further.

When she made her escape, Justin let her go, a look of utter shock on his face. After a few moments, he finally managed to snap his jaw shut.

First Jasper, now Bianca? Was there something wrong with him? Was there some sort of magical sign across his forehead that warned people away from him?

He noticed some of the people dancing around him glancing his way, and for the first time in a long time, he felt self-conscious. Justin never felt self-conscious...

He dropped his head and slipped through the crowd, intent on the bar. If he couldn't charm someone into his bed, then at least he could down a enough firewhiskey that it wouldn't matter.
