I hope you won't mind me writing, but I wanted to see how Obsidian was settling into his new home. I hope he wasn't too much trouble to get back to your place and to settle in. He seemed to take to you fairly quickly, so that gives me hope that he will adjust well.

Thank you for your concern. Obsidian is doing quite well, thank you kindly. His first night was somewhat restless, as is normal in a new environment, but he will be quite well, particularly as my sister is visiting for a time and will be able to keep him company (or vice-versa).

I would like to thank you again for your personal attention to this matter. Many would not have taken the time, and I am glad for Penelope's sake that you did.

I hope all is well at work, and that they are making excellent use of your talents. I hope you do not mind, but I have sent a small memo of commendation to your supervisor, complimenting your attention to the Clearwater case.

Mr. Weasley,

It is no trouble, I have a soft spot for animals. It isn't often my job brings me in contact with them, but is always nice when it does. Just be aware, cats have a tendency to think your bed is really their bed!

I appreciate that very much, truly. I hope they will take it to heart and put me out on more assignments. I will keep you informed on how that pans out, if you would like me to.

Dear Miss Greengrass,

I would appreciate being kept up to date on your work status, as from what I have seen, you are far too talented and conscientious in your work to be allowed to wither.

I hope you do not mind my inquiring, but considering your affection for animals, have you considered a position in the Department for the Regulation of Magical Creatures? It is but a thought, but it is certainly an option to think about should life as an Obliviator not suit you.

I had not really considered it. My parents don't see that department as a viable one, and it was not one of the ones they approved of my applying to. I suppose I'm still getting used to the idea of making my own life decisions, and I joined the Obliviators originally because I excelled at Charms, but I did always do well in Care of Magical Creatures. I will definitely keep it in mind as a possibility if things do not end well here, thank you!

Miss Greengrass,

I would only be pleased to hear good news from you.

As for the department, I can understand how some families might be put off by the exoticness of some of the creatures dealt with on a weekly basis. I am familiar with it due to my brother Charlie's work with dragons, and Mr. Long is a long-time associate of mine who I believe would make an excellent mentor should you choose that path.
