Who: Percy Weasley and Ernie Macmillan
What: A sudden break in the evening's boredom...
When: Some ungodly hour (probably about 2:00 AM), Wednesday November 12th
Where: Percy's flat, Kinnerton Court
Rating: Worksafe

Ernie sat on alert--or as alert as he could or would manage to be at this point in the evening, having spent his entire day and evening watching over Percy Weasley. Of course there was the visit by Hermione, and too much information about his dynamics with his family, but for the most part, surveillance was boring. It was when he had a chance to sit down and read the Prophet that he suddenly felt that this was worse than he initially fathomed. Muggles are also drawn into this? He sat and considered that for a couple of hours while Percy was going about his home life. Ern's job was just to be there, to check for security at various intervals, and to not interfere.

Eventually he had gotten to one of the more duller aspects of his job, staying alert while everyone else got to sleep. He had managed to do so thus far by having a look at the journals, and doodling--and this was in between his regular, half hour security checks. Nothing seemed particularly remarkable that day, which was probably for the better.

Ern closed his eyes just for a moment, feeling the tiredness catch up to him, but rubbed them firmly before shifting in his seat once more. He had a couple more alerting potions on him, which should tide him over until the morning. He looked at the stillness of the night sky out the nearest window. And waited for it to be over for the day...

It was then he heard sudden yelling, which startled him back into his own body, and into a new sense of awareness. He grabbed the Hit Wizards' communications device from his pocket, and sent an alert in their direction. They will have to follow up if he doesn't call it off within a couple of minutes. Quickly he burst through the door into the darkened bedroom, and had lit up the room with a wave of his wand.

"I do understand that there are concerns, but I am a highly private person and the situation as it is is unacceptable. It is not a comment on your skills, Mister Macmillan, but on my habits."

He sighed. "I intend on calling in sick tomorrow, and thus will not leave my flat all day. If there is an insistence upon watching me, after your shift is over, it can be done from outside my home. Would that be an acceptable compromise?"

He hoped it was, as otherwise he might never catch up on the sleep he had lost in the midst of the nightmare, not with the fear that he would wake up again to be seen in his pyjamas by a strange man pointing a wand.

"Well, I'll bring that to the team and my superior at shift change, but I don't see it being too much of a problem," Ern said with a shrug. The man didn't want real security.

"Do keep in mind that it is more safe though to have someone within earshot and/or line-of-sight. Any further and it gets proportionally risky. I see no problem in stationing Addler outside, and you can let him know of any changing security demands."

He heaved a sigh of relief that the man wasn't arguing overly much.

"Thank you," he said genuinely. "You may return to your post, but be warned, I may have another nightmare. If that is the case, please be more... discrete."

"Of course," Ern said, as he walked out the door. He felt no less than a bit puzzled still, but will clear the reduction in security it with his supervisor.

"Good night, Mr. Weasley," he added, almost as an afterthought as he closed the door after him.
