After choosing teams, the players hit the pitch, mount their brooms, and away they go!

It had been awhile since Roger had gotten back on the broom. But it was his old Quidditch pride showing, that he was happy to be Captain of a team again. And he was equally pleased that Alicia was his opposing Captain, since she probably hadn't played a game in awhile.

And this was just for fun. It was to honour a friend. But Roger was still competitive too. He was quite pleased when Adrian and Cade wanted to play for his team. They weren't on his team during school, and they weren't Chambers and Bradley, but they worked together, and as an Auror, you needed to work well with your colleagues.

When Alicia called the start of the match, Roger kicked off and lead the formation. He heard Angie calling to Cade, and Roger just yelled back, "Don't let the girls intimidate you."

Ern had never played for the house team, due to his ~~excessive~~ focus on his schoolwork but was a decent player when it came down to it. In any case, he needed something to distract his mind, something to deal with the pent up frustration. When he noticed that one of the sides was lacking in a beater he most easily took that up.

"Fearlessness won't help you, and the girls are the least of your problem," Ernie said, feeling some of the playfulness spread to him, despite the actual grim nature of that day.
