WHAT: Things are heating up in the kitchen

Life had never been simple for the wolf. Growing up the eldest son of an Alpha, wearing the mantle of pack enforcer, shouldering the burdens that came with the title he claimed when he killed his old man for the leadership...all of it had been a hard road to walk. Yet the Locke pack had thrived and grown stronger since Adam became the Alpha. Even when the world came to know of the supernatural world he had managed to keep his own pack well under the public radar. It didn't hurt that his private security firm already had contracts with the Defense Department, and that none of the higher ups wanted to risk exposing the fact that they had werewolves serving as mercs/private body guards either. So after the initial panic died down Adam and his pack were still standing.

The move out to the city hadn't been ideal, yet after all the stress his sisters decided that their brother/alpha needed a well earned vacation. Granted he still held the reins, but at least he allowed himself to be talked into taking some time off...in the name of opening up another branch of the pack's firm out here. What should have been a simple downtime, filled with golfing and relaxing, became something more though when the wolf ran into the coyotes. Taking them under his protection hadn't been planned, nor had he ever intended to fall for the red head either. Yet after being alive for nearly ninety years Adam knew that life still held a fair share of surprises. Hell Meri's scent still drove the usually stoic wolf wild, and when he came home to find her cooking for him his heart started hammering away. All that self control barely held, but the wolf managed to keep himself in check as he stepped into the kitchen, though that faint glow of gold in his eyes could be seen.

"Smells delicious..." Oh the food did smell divine and the Alpha's stomach rumbled so slightly, yet as he stepped closer to her it wasn't clear if he meant the meal...or her. A single hand rested on the small of Meri's back as he stood behind her, and without saying another thing his warm breath was felt upon her neck as Adam leaned down to lightly nip at her neck.

Meredith found it easy to have dinner going at her own home, since all she had to do was set up a crock pot for herself and Caleb. Making dinner for Adam was a task that was much more likely to be interrupted, though, and so she didn't tend to make things that took a lot of work and attention there either. The slow cooking was less appropriate though since she didn't live there to set a pot when she left and have it ready for him when he came home from whatever he ended up doing that day.

She smelled him before she heard or saw him, though part of that was the fact that she left one window open. She smiled to herself as she put the finishing touches on her cooking and turned her attention to the dessert she had left to cool, starting to frost the cupcakes - she liked them better than regular cake and they were fun to eat too.

His hand on her back and the nip on her neck cued her that he wasn't speaking solely about the food and she grinned, arching her back slightly so her body pressed into his. "I should hope it does, I've been here for hours." Teasing, obviously, she didn't mind how long she'd been there and she most certainly wasn't bothered by his greeting.

Between the scent of her skin, the warmth of her body, and the soft teasing tone of her words Adam found himself chuckling a little. None of this was normal for the wolf, yet instinct tended to help ease him through the strangeness of such things. Oh under the moon, and as the wolf, the primal side was easy to follow. Even when they hunted together the Alpha had found himself playfully nipping and frolicking with the coyote. But in this human form...well it was all so new. A wolf mates for life, and so Adam had never been one for the casual dating that humans seemed to enjoy.

Still the wolf knew he was falling for Meri, and that thought was far more thrilling then worrisome. "Well I do truly appreciate you cooking for me, Meri. It's been nice to find your scent her whenever I return from work...and the scent of your food too." His hand slowly slid around, moving from the small of her back to her waist as the wolf's lips were there upon her skin again; softly trailing tiny kisses in between little nips with his blunted teeth.

As she pressed back against his body she could likely feel the warmth rolling off the Alpha in waves, not to mention the other reaction she was stirring up as well. Adam's free hand moved to rest on her stomach, slipping beneath the fabric of her blouse to allow his nails to so gently rake across her flesh.

Hunting and playing as wolf and coyote was instinct, but in many ways this was too. They were both born as what they were, and so the instinct was strong in Meri whether she was human or coyote. She rarely found it in herself to be embarrassed by her urges or her behavior, though she was still young enough to be careful when she was around humans, especially since the new laws came about. Mating for life was natural for her kind as well, and while she had the normal urges, she had handled them on her own in the past- no one so far had struck her as worth it until Adam came along.

His scent aroused her even more, and her eyes closed for a moment as he spoke, then resumed his attention to her neck. Her body responded to his touch, knowing it was the touch of her mate, and she allowed her head to fall slightly to the side, baring her neck for him to 'attack' as he would. "I'm glad you like it," she murmured softly, her eyes opening to look up at him.

His hand on her stomach drew a small whine of pleasure, especially at the touch of his nails. She found she liked the bit of pain, honestly- though that again could well be something that occurred due to their instincts.

This dance of theirs had been going on for a few months, the tension and flirtation growing steadily with every encounter. There were a hundred reasons why they shouldn't be together, but Adam (and the inner wolf) didn't care. Need. Want. Have. That primal side had been in his blood since birth, and when Meri offered the tilt of her head to him the wolf growled. Oh it wasn't a sound of aggression, but one of excitement...and that sound of her whine finally pushed the Alpha right over the edge. For so long he had been the calm steady rock.

The man/wolf who ruled over a large pack with a loving hand and not with rage like his father had done. All that self control, all that restraint...all of it melted away as he found himself needing her. The paragon of polite manners and civility was now given in completely. A single sharp claw appeared on his forefinger, yet instead of her flesh that claw suddenly sliced right up along her blouse and bra...cutting both away without leaving a single mark upon her flawless flesh.

Remaining right behind her Adam pressed forward just a little, allowing her to feel the effect she had on him, while pinning her against the kitchen counter too. "Want you...I need you, Meri..." With a groan his left hand moved to her now exposed breast, cupping it a little roughly as his thumb brushed across her nipple. That right hand of his moved as well slipping down to the hem of her skirt and teasing her inner thighs with the brush of his fingertips."

Meri was an alpha in her own right, though her pack was much smaller and less difficult to control than his. The growl though? While it spoke of desire it also spoke of power, beyond what she had. She could not be alpha of this one, no, and she did not want to be. Mate, though, that could very easily be granted. Her hips rolled slightly at his behavior, her nostrils flaring to take in more of his scent, needing more of everything at the moment.

There was admittedly a bit of shock at his method of removing her clothing, but she was not arguing. She could replace clothes easily enough. She was young and not very restrained in seeking what she wanted- though most of the time her wants were not just for her. She provided for the home she kept. Now though? It was just them and she was just fine with that.

Her hips rolled again as he pressed forward and she growled softly, her eyes closing for a moment as he started to touch her with both hands, focusing on the feelings he was evoking. Her own hands moved to touch at his thighs and she pressed harder into him. "Take me, then," She murmured softly.

It was hard to focus on any coherent thought, much less to form an intelligible sentence while Adam felt her rolling back against his hardened manhood. That sweet natural scent of hers, and the added scent of Meri's arousal, flooded the wolf's senses too. This was all so very new to him, but it felt so right as well. Her growl of hers was echoed by his own, though the sound was muffled when Adam softly bit down on the back of her neck.

Her words weren't lost on the wolf though, and without hesitation his right hand moved away for a moment to make quick work of unfastening his belt and pants. When at last he was free from the confines of his clothing the Alpha used his knee to spread her legs wider apart for him, and with a muffled moan humming against the skin of her neck the wolf rolled his own hips forward.

His hand moved to pull her underwear down a bit beneath the skirt, and slowly he was there driving himself deep within her inch by inch until he was completely sheathed within. The rest of the world just melted away as she alone became the singular focus of his very existence in that moment, and it was her name that Adam moaned out before those hips of his started to moved back and forth a little.

His scent was far different from any she had detected before. The males she had met in the past - almost all humans - their musk didn't attract her. Adam though had the combination of human and canine, and instinct spoke to her in that, drawing her closer and closer until they reached this point, when they both knew that the other was mate and not simply some random flirtation to test their natures.

She had granted permission and now he was taking, and her body was already open and ready for him, her hips pushing back even as he pressed against her. The underwear she wore was in the way, and that was a bit irksome, but it was not permanent, she knew. He would handle that, and she presented herself for him, arching her back slightly to demonstrate her own need.

A soft whine escaped her when he pushed into her, but not one of pain. At least not entirely. It was new, and it did hurt a little, but that was fast eclipsed by the fact that he fit into her, and he was hers as much as she was his. The stroke on her clit had her moaning- panties were ignored, the fact that the majority of the clothing she had worn over was ruined was ignored. The only thing that she noticed was the fact that he was touching her, driving her nearly mad with desire. Sure, there was still a tiny bit of pain around the edges of this, but she hardly noticed it. It was outweighed by the pleasure of the joining.

She was not as easily able to touch him, but in many ways it did not matter. She was able to move with him and show him with sounds (sounds that probably resembled her animal form almost as much as human) what she was feeling. Her body was tight around him, holding him close as her eyes closed again- overloaded with sensations she did not want to end. Her hands continued to grip the counter, nothing registering for her but the pleasure of their union now.

Golden eyes shined brightly in the heat of it all. His chest heaving, muscles straining with raw power, yet despite the feverous pace they set the wolf took care not to hurt his mate. Oh he marked her with blunted teeth, littering Meri's neck and shoulder with his bite marks, yet the Alpha never drew blood. No, this wasn't about pain and dominance. This was about a deep seeded desire to join with his mate. Pure instinct. There was no need for softly whispered words, nor any gentle caress here and now. Her scent was all of the wolf's skin, just as his own scent covered her.

That growl of hers elicited one of his own, and that way she tightened around his throbbing manhood actually drew forth a tiny whimper as the intensity of it all increased. Twice more his hips thrust back and forth, driving himself harder and deeper within until Adam's breath hitched. With an almost inaudible groan the Alpha held himself inside, sheathed fully amid that divine core of hers.

Meri would not have minded honestly if he had drawn blood to some degree. This was about passion and joining, and there was little to no space in passion for restraint. The bite marks would show that she was possessed by another, though she imagined that she would be teased for them later. It didn't matter that much though. She was much more focused on being his, having their bodies touching and moving together as they were.

The feeling of him pumping into her harder, and the change of pace? It told her all she needed to know, and she shifted again a tiny bit, allowing her body to hold him more tightly, sheathing him so that he could release. She wanted that, wanted to feel him let go inside of her so that the world became even more just them.

Meri let out a soft laugh at the ripping of his shirt, her eyes moving to meet his. It wasn't a challenge, simply an acknowledgement that they had found each other, as they should have. It was strange in some ways to imagine that she could have lived decades more before meeting her mate. She had been fortunate though. She was young and they would have many years together.

His gripping the counter - and breaking it - drew another laugh from her. She would not be likely to do the same with her grip, she was much smaller than he was and her strength manifested very differently - speed and endurance rather than brute ability.

"I am yours and you're mine," she responded, nodding. It was a fact that couldn't and wouldn't be changed. They had found each other and neither would have another mate as long as they both lived.

Adam lost track of all sense of time as his desire for her took hold, yet the wolf knew that if the property damage was any indication...well it had been a few hours at least. Even with his enhanced healing and stamina the Alpha found himself damn near exhausted, but he couldn't resist chuckling softly as they finally crashed on the carpet in the living room.

A quick glance around was all it took to take stock of the damage they had inadvertently done; a broken coffee table, the tile kitchen counter shattered, the bedroom was all but demolished, and even the couch in the living room seemed to have been torn apart at some point during the fun. However the smile of his was likely due to the fact that their seemed to be cupcake icing everywhere. Well everywhere except for on them since that tasty treat had been thoroughly licked clean.

Oh there may no longer have been any frosting left on their skin but red bite and claw marks still littered both their naked forms. Still such things only brightened his grin and the Alpha sighed contently as he basked in the warmth of her closeness. "Think it may just be cheaper to move instead of trying to fix the place up."

Meri looked around as they both landed on the floor and a small grin curved her lips as her eyes turned to him. "I think we broke it," she murmured softly, curling her body against his. They were both a little bit sticky and a lot messy, but she didn't mind. She had very much enjoyed the whole time, and it seemed like he had as well, which was important. She yawned lazily and stretched as she looked around, taking in the mess with a hint of amusement - though underlying that was a little hint of nerves too. She couldn't afford to help pay for this, she knew. She and Cale weren't poor, but this was more than what they could manage.

Her fingers trailed lightly over his cheek and she leaned forward to kiss him. "You could come to our place..." Because she and Caleb had a small home of their own and a nearby park that tended to be acceptable for hunting- at least the small game the two coyotes had the best luck with.

The wolf nodded and flashed a smile in agreement. There was no doubt that the place had been trashed yet Adam didn't really care. After all it was only material things that had been wrecked, and he could replace of it with ease. It paid to be wealthy, and the Locke Pack had worked hard to earn their vast fortune. Under the Alpha's direction no one in his pack would ever want for food, or for anything really. When she mentioned coming to her place he paused to give it serious consideration, and after a moment he slightly shook his head. "I appreciate the offer yet I think it would be more prudent to simply purchase another property for us all. Something large enough to accommodate a dozen people or so, since our pack will be stopping by from time to time."

Our pack. Those two little words conveyed so much, after all she was his mate now...and so his pack was hers. The thought didn't bother Adam in the least, if anything he smiled a bit more at the prospect of having a mate to share with. "That reminds me, I'll put a call in tonight and have arrangements made to ensure that you will have full access to our pack's resources. After all as mate to the Alpha of the Locke Pack, well you now hold rank over all except myself."

A flicker of confusion passed over her face for a moment before it registered that she was now part of a much larger pack. She had not thought of that at all, and she looked down at her hands thoughtfully. "Caleb too?" Because she would not leave her brother behind. He needed someone to look after him and she knew it. She could not leave him to himself.

She leaned against him slightly and shrugged. "I don't need anything really. I work and all... I don't want to be a drain on resources." Because she was able to make enough that she and her brother were provided for, if nothing else.

His heavy eyelids drifted shut for a moment, as the wolf found himself being lulled to sleep as he savored having her scent all around him. Even when she asked after her brother Adam just yawned for a second before speaking up softly. "Him too." There was no debate, nor need to be pressed into it. Since the lame coyote was he family, and thus now part of the Alpha's family as well.

A single eye did open a little when she leaned closer and spoke up once more. Yet he just chuckled a bit before offering up a reply. "A drain on resources? Love...do you not grasp just how wealthy you now are? Quite literally our company netted around 98 million dollars last year alone. That's not even bringing in the other investments we've made, or the off the books jobs either. You could buy anything and everything you've ever dream of Meri...and it wouldn't even put a dent into a single one of our many bank accounts."

"Good," She spoke softly. It had been a concern in a lot of ways. Her brother was damaged, after all, and most packs wouldn't have welcomed him at all. The fact that Adam was willing to bring him along made her a lot more accepting of the move, and the change. She curled closer to him, her own eyes closing for a moment as she settled in.

"That...is going to take time to get used to." Because while she had never lacked for anything, she still had not been wealthy by any means. "Maybe... I could open my own shop one day...?" Because that was the only thing she has ever considered wanting honestly.

The wolf's eyes closed once again as another yawn escaped him. As far as Adam was concerned the matter of her brother's acceptance was already settled, and the Alpha had no doubt that both of the coyotes would be perfectly safe when it came to the pack. Oh there were little details that still needed to be worked out, but such matters were about logistics and nothing else.

When she mentioned it taking time those large shoulders of his just shrugged a little, since time was one thing they both had in spades. Talk of the shop though earned her another chuckle, and his hand wrapped around her as Meri curled closer. "One call is likely all that's needed, and with that our lawyers and accountants could have the real estate purchased and the place in your name within the week. Just say the word and it's yours, Meri."
