*ventures into town on the morning of New Year's Eve, armed only with his niece and the vague idea of buying some new clothes* (*yes, is Celegorm's brother but still buys off-the-rack*)
*goes into a clothes shop and selects jeans and t-shirts and pays for them without trying them on* *with that done, takes Lily to a café for a mid-morning snack*
*is not entirely oblivious to the openly admiring looks he is receiving from most of the women in the vicinity, and is more than a little amused* |

*having met with his father and explored the Engineering Department of O.U., has found himself in a very unusual situation* *has more or less been informed that, if he passes some sort of -- proficiency? exam?, he could be admitted on a fast-track course with the express intention of training him to be qualified as a tutor/lecturer in two years (because of his background, high skill levels and, he can only assume, his contacts in the region)*
*thus, finds himself rather at a loss: has been given an honest-to-Eru opportunity to stop being an amused spectator in this lifetime* *opts to invest in a couple of engineering books (light reading, more than anything) in order to look into this in a bit more depth*
*finds a table outside a café at the edge of the student quarter and keeps his sunglasses and woolly hat on, so no one recognises him* |

*gets an assignment to make a delivery way outside the city, up near Ossirinand*
*hasn't been on a road trip for a while and definitely doesn't want to revisit the last one, so and decides it'd be much better this time with company* :)
*finally stops off to get the work part out of the way*
*finishes up at the auto shop with time to spare before he meets back with Haleth to find a hotel* |
