*in the days since the Incident (can't bear to think of it in less abstract terms than that), has moved into a hotel in town (though not the same hotel in which her daughter is currently staying)*
*has had nothing whatsoever to do with Celegorm, or his brother (even though she grudgingly admits that Curufin has been remarkably supportive and caring of Lily)*
*does long for the air of Gondolin again and, in spite of her best efforts, cannot convince Lily to come too* *finally, does the unthinkable and contacts Arakáno, requesting to meet her at Curufin's hotel* |

*after a couple nights spent shacked up in the Savoy, being a fully funded self-sufficient woman (i.e. buying movies and raiding the minibar with abandon), came to the conclusion that living on her own totally sucks*
*considers calling her uncle (but he already checks on her constantly and she doesn't want to give him the satisfaction) or her mother (she misses her, but she needs to think about what—or who—she's done) or even Finduilas (she's a television star, so her life must be exciting, and maybe she has some good advice for the wild and crazy single girl who misses her mommy and her bed and her horses)*
*sighs and shoves her phone in her handbag and just goes out into town to see what there is to see* |

*in the earlier morning, before Yates' appointment to see him, does get a little bit stressed, for all that he has kept pretty level-headed about developments (or lack thereof) on the Maeglin front* *is rarely level-headed when it comes to Yates, though*
*decides, rather sensibly, to take Marigold for a nice long walk and even goes via the Fountain, dropping off coffee and a pastry for the Lord of that house* *arrives back in his own office in plenty of time for the appointment and, with Marigold comfortably asleep on the couch, begins to read through his most recent reports regarding Maeglin (and they're pretty brief or non-existent)* |
