Hey guys!
In this post, we're going to sum up the events of what we are referring to as "Season 1" of our game. If anything is unclear, please comment and we will clarify! We just want everybody to be on the same page, knowing that we will pick back up three months after the attack on the Society compound.
Zeus, Poseidon, Hades and Hera had been missing for going on ten years when Dionysus and Hermes decided to strike at Zeus's throne in order to shake things up and force the Pantheon into action. To this day, none of the Pantheon are aware that they are responsible for the destruction of Zeus's throne.
At about the same time, one of the Three (the leaders of the Society) died, leaving his son to take over. His son, Cledwyn, is actually a demigod, a fact most Society people are unaware of. Zeus seduced his mother, one night; she committed suicide after Cledwyn was born. Cledwyn was raised to hate gods - and hate the divine within himself - and once went up against his actual father. Zeus let him live, but Cledwyn bears a scar on his face to forever remind him of that failed attempt. The other two of the Three are Eva (One) and Adrian (Two).
It turns out that Cledwyn, in his turn, had a son with a prostitute he slept with years ago, a son he did not know about. This son, Leonard, is incredibly talented with computers, and was forced by Adrian to work for the Society. He ran into Eros and they fell in love. Meanwhile, Gideon, a Society member and good friend of Leonard, was tasked to spy on Dionysus, but the two of them became involved, as well.
Eventually, Cledwyn came to realise that Leonard was his son, and his allegiances shifted immediately. His loyalty went to his son first, and to the Society second. But Leonard had gone digging where he shouldn't, and when Society Witches fought him, he lashed out with the lightning he had inherited from his father. Upon realising that Leonard had divine blood in him, Adrian tasked Chase, a Society Healer, to study the boy's lightning. Gideon, having heard of Leonard's imprisonment, came back to the Society headquarters in Arizona, only to be killed. His murderer remains unknown to this day. Dionysus traveled to Hades and offered to bring Gideon back, but Gideon has turned him down, preferring to remain dead for now.
Eros, in the meantime, turned to his family for help setting his lover free. Ares, Adrestia, and the twins Phobos and Deimos mounted an assault against the Society HQ. Cledwyn seized the moment to help Leonard escape, relinquishing him to Adrestia before being taken down by Eliza, a Society operative. His treachery revealed, he has been since kept prisoner by the remainder of the Three.
Following the attack, the Society has moved out of Arizona, and to another compound in Canada. The succession of Three has not yet been settled, as never before has one of the Three had to be replaced for any reason but death. But Cledwyn is too precious a commodity for them to simply execute. Two people are vying for the position - Chase, the Healer, and Cadi, Cledwyn's half-sister.
These are only the biggest events; a lot more has happened, but we'd still be here tomorrow if we had to write out everything. If you'd like to comment below with each of your characters, feel free to remind us what was going on with them then, and what has been going on with them during the three months that have elapsed since the attack on the Society compound. It'll help you, and everybody else, get ready for play!
We're so very, very excited about playing again, with old and new characters alike! Let's make this amazing, shall we?
