Notes: Chat him up on the train, copy his notes in the lab, harangue him about politics, ask him the time, whatever your fertile little brain suggests. I'm dead serious, anyone and everyone welcome.
The class is "Introduction to Programming", and Cassian never walks into it without a wry inward smile. He'd admit to a certain degree of personal vanity in this: it's been a very long time since he needed anyone to explain computers to him.
But the systems they use in Preya are genuinely alien, everything operated at a minimum of one remove, everything organized according to a fractured logic, in what he visualizes as narrow, towering, precarious stacks that a breath might collapse - and he dislikes being at a disadvantage. Anything that gets him up to speed faster is well worth the prick to his pride.
Besides, it's an ordinary kind of thing to do. He's one of a dozen who come up from Everdale every Saturday, be it for educational purposes or just to use the laundromat. There's a certain value in that alone.
