"Holy Helga's Ghost, it's freezing!"
When Tonks agreed to go camping with Hina, there was one thing that both of them perhaps forgot to consider: the weather. Despite the fact that it was the middle of winter, Preya wasn't nearly as cold as it tended to get back at Hogwarts or even England for that matter. Sure there were days of cold weather, but it wasn't anything Tonks couldn't handle being so accustomed to the weather at school. Hogsmeade trips were infinitely more exciting when there was a blanket of snow covering the ground. Better to get into snowball fights with, of course. The trouble was that the day in Preya was muggy and rainy to begin with. Just when they thought it was clearing up and had set up their camping equipment near the beach, that was when the temperatures began to plummet.
Tonks sat up from her sleeping bag trembling and patting around them in search of her wand. She hadn't really considered using magic during this camping trip, as they were supposed to be "roughing it", but some habits just couldn't be broken. Somehow, her wand had found itself on the other side of where Hina was lying down, and Tonks had to reach over her to snatch it back. "Sneaky thing, this wand of mine," she muttered before casting a spell that produced a small blue flame on the palm of her hand. Instantly, the warmth spread through her and she sighed at the relief. "Here, come close," she said to Hina, sliding the blue flames into her her other hand so she could accommodate herself beside Hina once more.
"How did it get so cold so suddenly? I would have made us a fire had I known." The whole thing made Tonks feel a bit pathetic. Was she too spoiled to live out in the world like this? Sure, she didn't have the sort of technologies that most Muggles did even in her own time, but she couldn't deny that life was a lot easier when you were from the future. She grinned over at Hina despite the rudeness of the cold bearing down upon them. "You can touch the fire if you want. It won't hurt you. Just make sure not to get it near your clothing or it'll singe off what little you're already wearing."
