Everdale in the early morning was a series of creatures waking and falling asleep. Todoroki had spent the better part of the morning doing his usual stretching and workout, but it seemed he was needing to continue it now, if only in the cardio department. He was running, every other step leaving a trail of ice behind him, jagged and uneven as he was using it to give him a bit of a push. He could slide, but it didn't seem fast enough when he had been running most of the morning trying to find this place. It wasn't helping when his gps on his phone was useless here, at least in Everdale.
He knew he had to stop, though, and breathe, the cold was getting to him, his breath coming in hot puffs of air like smoke as he bent forward. He had to be near the school by now, but he didn't know how much further he had to go. He wasn't even sure he was going in the right direction. He let his body warm, using the fire half to regulate himself, but not to the point of fully catching fire, just enough to ease the frost on his skin away. Eventually, he stood straight again, stretching his back a bit before rubbing the moisture from his cheek, looking around before taking a deep breath and taking a step, shooting up ice in front of himself like a crystal wall before he started climbing, thankful he'd worn his boots today.
If he wasn't getting anywhere on the ground, going above the treeline would give him better sight.
Still, even he was feeling it. Being late on his first day was probably excusable, but it wasn't a habit he needed to get in. If he could see the station and the school that would be the best, but only time would tell. He kept at it, huffing a bit more than he'd like to admit before he finally cleared the last slippery edge, it hardening back beneath his hand as he looked over it, lifting his left hand to shield his eyes as he squinted around.
