Something about the boy's expression wasn't overly comforting. It made him wonder if his friend was going to be having that much trouble getting home, or maybe this place wasn't all it was cracked out to seem. He could worry about that later, when he wasn't worried about being too late. He might be excused, but he didn't want to set a poor example of himself so early. "Thanks."
He looked at the broom again, admittedly wary before giving a small nod. The boy was muttering nonsense as far as Todoroki was concerned and really, he even spoke differently. A different dialect or something than he was used to. He couldn't really place it, but it didn't matter. It could just be how everyone was in Everdale. He'd take his word for it. "I don't know what that is."
Still, he saw no reason to not to lift a leg up and over the broom when he felt confident it was actually close enough. It was surprisingly not as weird as he expected it to be. "Shouto Todoroki. Most of my classmates call me Todoroki." He wasn't actually on a first name basis with any of them. Even his teachers didn't call him Shouto. That was mostly a name his family used, probably just because they were all Todorokis as well. "It's fine. Go as you normally would." If the boy wanted to harm him, he probably would've tried by now. Still, he made sure to grip the broom, though, which was when it felt a bit strange. "I'll figure out how to hold on."
