There were a lot of mornings that Hiccup spent in the woods, sketching everything there was in sight as he went. At times early mornings, before he'd start giving rides. Sometimes after. Not that the cold bothered him after growing up in Berk, but it was definitely better lately to go later in the morning once it warmed up and more of the wildlife made it's way from the woodwork. There was still a lot for him to see. Less dangerous than chasing down dragons, at least mostly. With Toothless scampering along with him, there weren't many things that came up to bother them.
Hiccup never went anywhere without a sketch pad. More often than not, he had more than one that he could pull out to suit his needs. He already had a few filled with creatures and people alike. It kept him busy anyway. He was touch and go on his plan to poke around for answers because he knew well that you definitely didn't always find what you thought you were going to.
Like today, he wasn't expecting to come across this woman out in the woods. Not just any woman either, no. Hiccup had been in contact with the strange enough to know there was something different about her and her unnatural beauty, even from further away. He very nearly turned to get Toothless and head back the way they came, but darn it all if his curiosity wasn't piqued. The least he could do was introduce himself, right?
So, taking in a breath, Hiccup turned back toward her, putting up his sketch pad for now and motioning for Toothless to calm down as he headed over to her. Clearing his throat to avoid that annoying crackling his voice still did sometimes when he was nervous, he waved an arm over his head. "Hey there! Good morning!"
