RP: Sunday meal
Who: Everyone
Where: OSP home
When: June 12, 2011
Summary: Another Sunday, another meal but with a twist
The constant rain had turned into random thunderstorms, but they still couldn't have a barbecue outside. It was chilly and gray. The ground was wet and muddy after twenty-four hours of rain. She called April and Tim to let them know about the change of plans, before contacting each house to get creative, asking everyone to bring whatever they could think. It'd be a mismatch of foods, but it always worked out in the end, with people eating a little bit of everything.
There was one thing that was going as planned was dessert. She had roped April into helping. They made eight small cakes, half chocolate and half vanilla. They covered them in frosting and then drew a badge and a gun on each side, and in the middle they wrote Agent and the name of one of the new agents. It took forever and they weren't even perfect, but it was the best they could do.
Hiding them was even harder than making them. She had practically thrown everyone out of the kitchen, and for once her mood over the wedding helped for something, because not many were willing to aruge with her. She and April were able to keep them hidden until after dinner, when she recruited people to help her bring all eight cakes out and put them on the table.
"Everyone, pay attention and don't make me go on fire for that," she said in her captain of the squad voice. "I know we had the ceremony on Monday, but there wasn't time for a proper party, so today we have cake and champagne to celebrate our very special agents. As I mentioned before to someone very dear to me, you survived without killing any of us, which I know it's not always easy. We're very proud of you; I know I am, but that doesn't mean that we'll drive you less crazy or that we won't smack you for taking stupid risks. Now, y'all get to cut your cake, and finally we can eat some dessert."
She'd let them have cake. She was more interested in talking to people, as usual.
