Re: Savannah/G
"Pictures with the cake," he repeated slowly, shaking his head. It still didn't make any sense to him why one would need pictures with a cake. But, he didn't suppose it was going to anytime soon, so no need to belabor the point. "I don't really do pictures, Savannah. It makes it difficult to do my job and not exist when there's photographic evidence beyond the necessary biometrics that says I do." Sighing, he shook his head again. "You didn't screw anything up." He had by forgetting his place. It wasn't her fault he'd let himself expect more than what he was allowed. He'd grown complacent here, believing the lie of a normal life. If anything, the past month should have taught him that lesson anew.
Of course, it was difficult to remember he shouldn't expect these things when she was hugging him like it mattered and rambling about things that still seemed so far removed from anything G had ever seen in his own future -- even if he really didn't want pictures of himself floating around. Shaking his head yet a third time, he released her to take the watch out of it's box and put it on. Like with the bracelet from Sam months ago, he wasn't sure how long he'd be able to wear it. But, he couldn't not, at least today. And, he definitely didn't want to be seen slinking off now and engender questions after all the hugging. "No, it's fine."
