RP: Official Party
Who: Everyone
Where: Military CO's home
When: Friday, April 8, 2011
Summary: After the visit, it's time to party, or pretend to

The visit had gone as well as expected. They all knew that official visits only showed you what they wanted you to show, and that was exacty what Leon had done. He hadn't even shown them the best and brightest, too afraid that they would be too afraid if they saw some of what they had accomplished in three months. No, it was a juggling act between not showing too much, but showing enough progress to justify the current budgetary expenses. All in all, Leon was confident that they had done an okay job.

That left them with the party. A few more hours to go and they'd be free. The party was held at the CO's home. All top officers were present. Unlike the usual parties, spouses were missing. He was sure that no one was pleased with that, but they couldn't allow civilians in a base like this. That meant that almost everyone present was in uniform, except for the ICIS employees.

Hetty had done a great job, especially considering the short time they had. Everyone looked impeccable. Now, if their words would be as impeccable, they'd make it through the night unscathed.

The one thing Neal wanted most. She pursed her lips to consider that, what did she want most and could it be used against her? She doubted it, what she wanted was Money, was freedom, and neither of those were things that she could be tempted with - not now, not when she all ready had both. Maybe not here, but she was all ready caught here.

She had a hard time believing the FBI had access to quite the same resources they did, but then again from what she knew Neal never did pull very many tech heavy jobs in the past. Neither did she before she'd joined up with the others though so it wasn't all that hard to believe. It was obvious Neal relied on his charm, a grifter like Sophie in a lot of ways. While Parker relied on her own skill set. "Working with a team is something else." She agreed.

Parker looked away from Neal then, toward the rest of the party, men and women dressed too nicely - she thought about the sort of jobs they could have pulled at a party like this, how satisfying it would be to walk in and out of a place like this. "One." She said finally, she hoped it was just one - Archie wouldn't look - not unless she didn't get in contact with him for the rest of the year. The others? Maybe they would move on, chalk up her disappearance to any other strangeness about her, but Hardison she wasn't sure he would just let her get away with disappearing.

"You do have something, you know. It might not be something you even realize you need until the risk of not having it is there," Neal offered. "That's how it was for me anyway."

Neal nodded, not smiling. He knew only too well how leaving anybody behind wasn't pleasant. "Me too," he said. "Just the one." Alex would search for a bit, maybe, and the bureau would do a search but it would be for Peter. Mozzie was the one friend he did have that would search high and low.

Neal just hoped he would give up before he got killed for asking too many questions.

"If I keep talking to you, Peter's going to give me the third degree later and will be convinced we're both up to no good," he murmured, sipping at his drink. "It was nice talking to you though, Parker. I'm selfishly glad that you're around."

She would have to think about that - what was it that could be used against her at some point. It didn't matter now, she didn't have anything, but later - when she got back, it would help to know.

Glancing across the room to where Peter was actually watching the pair of them, Parker nodded. "Wouldn't want to get you into trouble." She told him with a small teasing smile, and she didn't need to cause any more trouble between herself and Burke either.

"I'll see you later." She said though, before Neal turned away and she looked for someone else to attach herself to lest another general or something tried to talk to her about what it was like being here.
