RP: Party at the Club
Who: Everyone
Where: the base
When: February 24, 2011
Summary: It's a real party

The beauty of this reorganization was that he had a lot more free time available. Sure he had to deal with Hetty, but she wasn't bad for a woman, and she was witty, something that he appreciated. However, it still meant that he had time to fix the club the way he wanted.

He had to do it cheaply, of course, but he was resourceful when he needed to be. First they got rid of all those horrible tables. They were replaced by mismatched sofas left by soldiers that had moved elsewhere or from offices not used anymore. The next step was the walls. Again, it didn't take much, cheap full lenght mirrors, stripped of the frames and glued to the sheet rocks all around, while the walls in the sitting area were covered in sheer white fabric that would turn into a purplish color under the right light. There was also a cube of wood that they had quickly painted white on one side. They might never use it, but maybe he could convince a person or two to dance there. Finally the lights. Again, things could be done cheaply. Darkness was the key. He got the boys to get the lights that IKEA sold for inside drawers and put them at the bar so the bar tender could see without needing too much light. Then strobe lights, which weren't as expensive as people thought.

With the room ready, the music was the last touch. Brian had been listening to current dance and pop music since his arrival, but he was no expert, and he asked one of the soldiers who seemed to know what he was doing to create a few CDs with songs. They'll work up to a live DJ, but this was pretty good for the time being.

They were ready for a party.

Nate wasn't completely surprised when Brian joined him on the couch, knowing already that the other man didn't like hanging around women and that hanging around straight men was a waste of his time.

He smiled when he felt Brian's mouth and hand but didn't move, not sure how he felt about being so open out in, well, the open. "I am," he replied. "It's good to get out and not have to think about training or weapons or anything else."

"Not quite what I'm used to but you did well," He rested his arm on the back of the sofa. "How about you? You having a good time?"

Brian made a face at the thought of training and weapons. The weights and running wasn't bad. It was something he did at home, but he had no interest in fighting and ruining his manicure, and guns were best left in stores. "This is definitely better than the stuff they like."

He didn't go far as he pulled back, head resting on Nate's shoulder. Brian laughed. "Have you seen this place? It's not what I'm used to either. It's a good set up, but I'm going to have fun tomorrow night when this crowd isn't here." He turned his head to look at Nate and smirked. "Although things are looking up." He reached into his pocket and kept his hand around the joint so only Nate could see. "Would you like to join me for some private fun later?"

"Come on, it's not that bad. Could be way worse, man," he replied. "And I'd rather be doing something constructive than nothing at all."

"I don't even go to clubs that much. Private parties in and out of the City is more my scene," he said with a small smile. "I think you'd like the luxury of it but not the people."

Nate's smile widened into a grin when he saw the joint and he looked at Brian. "If you're willing to share then sure," He arched an eyebrow. "How did you get it?"

"Sure it could. We could have end up in some god forsaken country where they object to fun and gays," he said. "I still don't see this as being good." Brian had never been one to look at the bright side. This sucked was pretty much a fair statement at most times. "I was doing plenty constructive before coming here and none of it ruined my hands."

He nodded. "I know the scene. I know the money that is spent on that scene. I'd offend everyone of those people in under ten minutes," he said laughing. "Although seeing their faces would be worth being thrown out from those parties."

Brian put it back in his pocket and nodded. "I wouldn't have shown it to you if I wasn't willing." He stretched up and kissed Nate's neck before whispering in his ear. "I told you I have ways. Let's see if it's any good and then we work on a more steadily supply. We'll talk later."
