RP: Party at the Club
Who: Everyone
Where: the base
When: February 24, 2011
Summary: It's a real party

The beauty of this reorganization was that he had a lot more free time available. Sure he had to deal with Hetty, but she wasn't bad for a woman, and she was witty, something that he appreciated. However, it still meant that he had time to fix the club the way he wanted.

He had to do it cheaply, of course, but he was resourceful when he needed to be. First they got rid of all those horrible tables. They were replaced by mismatched sofas left by soldiers that had moved elsewhere or from offices not used anymore. The next step was the walls. Again, it didn't take much, cheap full lenght mirrors, stripped of the frames and glued to the sheet rocks all around, while the walls in the sitting area were covered in sheer white fabric that would turn into a purplish color under the right light. There was also a cube of wood that they had quickly painted white on one side. They might never use it, but maybe he could convince a person or two to dance there. Finally the lights. Again, things could be done cheaply. Darkness was the key. He got the boys to get the lights that IKEA sold for inside drawers and put them at the bar so the bar tender could see without needing too much light. Then strobe lights, which weren't as expensive as people thought.

With the room ready, the music was the last touch. Brian had been listening to current dance and pop music since his arrival, but he was no expert, and he asked one of the soldiers who seemed to know what he was doing to create a few CDs with songs. They'll work up to a live DJ, but this was pretty good for the time being.

They were ready for a party.

"Well I would have dragged you along with me in the first place if you'd actually come to help me find a new yoga group, but no." He dragged the last word out and grinned at her. "You know I'd have told you, right?" He made a point to let her know the last time he was being pulled into an undercover job, and they'd only worked together a short time then. He was actually her partner when he'd been pulled into this place, if given the chance he would have.

"That's cause she likes your legs." Marty assured Kensi with a small teasing smirk. "I didn't realize you'd come over for a pep talk - been talking with Callen or Sam?" He asked quirking an eyebrow at her.

"You've gotta ask real nice to see the cheerleader uniform, you know that." He grinned.

"Were you looking for a yoga class or hot girls to hit on?" Kensi asked, quirking an eyebrow. "And yeah, I figured you probably would have done but... It was weird. I was just told I was being reassigned until everybody was back."

"I have awesome legs. In fact, I'm just pure awesome. That's totally my superpower," Kensi smirked. "Not really. They mentioned that you didn't really want to talk so obviously that's because you were just missing me so much you couldn't talk about it. But seriously- You want to talk then you come and find me. I'm not going to force you to discuss your feelings or anything. That's Nate's job if he ends up here too."

"Oh really? How about offering to buy the donuts or not kick your ass completely at training? Is that nice enough?"

"It can't have been both?" He asked her. "I like a little yoga in my life, I can't help that attractive women seem to feel the same way." He nodded, he didn't imagine that would have been a good feeling, to suddenly have your entire team up and leave with no notice or warning.

"You just keep telling yourself that, maybe it'll come true." Yeah, he'd missed Kensi, and the way things were easy between them like this. Talking about nothing. "God help us all if Nate shows up, he'll have his hands full with this group. If I need to I'll come around." He assured her though, not sure if there was anything he really wanted or needed to share with anyone at the moment, Savannah bore the brunt of his working through things these days, but maybe it'd be a good idea to spread that around some.

"Please you really think you could kick my ass? I've had Sam here doing that since I got here - it's what we do for fun around here." He grinned. "You'll have to actually be nice to me if you want to see it."

"Impossible," Kensi said with a snort. "Feeling zen and flirting at the same time. It's like your nirvana, right?"

"It's so true and you know it," Kensi drank some more of her beer. "Nate's pretty awesome. He helped a lot, especially with my dad. I never spoke about it for a long time, too raw and all that."

"I could so kick your ass. I can kick Sam's ass with knives and if he can kick yours than so can I. You want me to shock you again then that can be arranged," she added with a smug smile. "I only want to see it if I can take photographic evidence of you in it."

"I'm always looking for enlightenment." He grinned.

"Of course it is." It wasn't quite the same sort of banter Sam and Callen shared, they didn't have years of experience together and a partnership tested time and time again in the field to be at that point, but it was still something he'd missed. A partner that wasn't just trying to teach him the way Sam was, but one who he'd actually really worked with before, one he'd been learning how to trust. "There is no doubt in my mind that Nate is awesome, he'd have to be, to have put up with you all for so long before I came along and brought in a little sanity."

"Who says Sam can kick my ass? Maybe I'm the one kicking his ass now, I've had a lot of practice recently." He snorted when she continued and shook his head. "Oh no, you want a picture it's going to take a lot more than you being nice to me for you to see it."

"Or a phone number," Kensi retorted. "So does Savannah do yoga? Have you managed to finally perfect the two?"

"Oh Deeks. You didn't bring sanity, you brought comedy," she said, giving him a fake pitying look. "I don't think I've ever heard a man bitch so much about getting to ride a dirt bike. It made my day- No, week."

"Because it's Sam and his arm muscles alone are bigger than your head," Kensi said flatly, finishing off her drink. "It wouldn't matter how much practice you had, Sam trains more than anybody else on the team, myself included."

"Or a phone number." Marty repeated shaking his head as Kensi teased him. "She doesn't really strike me as the yoga type, but I don't know. She's more the back flip smile then punch you in the face type, but maybe she could be into yoga."

"You just keep telling yourself that, but laughter is the key to sanity." He replied unfazed by her fake pity. "I have a fair complexion okay, deal with it." He said shaking his head at her, and knocking his shoulder against her own.

"Size isn't everything, Kensi" Marty replied with a smirk. "You of all people ought to be aware of that. That being said, Sam is a beast."

"Oh come on. Don't tell me you didn't miss this- I'm way more fun than the others," Kensi ordered another beer. "Just keep the downward facing dog to your bedroom."

"Well you don't have to worry about that here," she said with a small grin. "Although if we ever go anywhere with temperatures above 80, I'll pack the sunscreen. Can't have you looking like a lobster now, can I?"

"It certainly helps," Kensi grinned at his smirk. "We're lucky to have somebody who takes their training so seriously and encourages us to do the same. But yeah, I wouldn't want to meet Sam down an alley on a dark night if I didn't know him."

"I don't know about fun, but maybe I missed you." Marty agreed grinning, though really there was no maybe about it. He had missed Kensi - just like he'd missed so much about home. He missed his partner. And then he snorted when Kensi continued. "You just wish you could see my awesome yoga moves, you wouldn't know what to do with yourself."

"The one benefit of this place." Marty agreed wistfully. Though he'd certainly give up gray skies for his California weather any day, particularly where all this snow was concerned. "No, lobster is not a good look for me, best we avoid that whenever possible."

"No, I don't think there is anyone who would be happy about running into Sam on a dark night." He laughed, he certainly hadn't had the best of experiences in alleys with Sam up to this point after all. "You know you're starting to sound a bit like a poster child for the team, did you miss us that much?"

"I'm sure I'd just pass out at seeing such a manly display," she said with a snort. "You're not so bad yourself. My new partner in San Diego didn't entertain me half as much."

"You like New York more than LA?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "Have you gone all East Coast on me, Deeks?"

"I don't know, it was weird with you all leaving and now I find I'm in a different dimension. Give me a couple of days to settle down," she said, unwilling to admit that she had missed everybody that much. "I missed OSP. I liked our unit."

"Oh believe me you definitely would, it's for your own safety that I've never shown you before." He assured her with a grin. "Of course not," Marty chuckled, part of him not exactly fond of the idea of Kensi having another partner - but then he had Sam here so it wasn't like things hadn't changed for both of them. Who knew how things would change now?

Mart snorted. "I say there is one benefit of living out here and suddenly I like New York more than LA? Are you sure your brain didn't get a little scrambled in the trip over?" He asked her shaking his head. "I think there is one thing you will never have to worry about, in any dimension - and that is me always preferring LA to New York."

"Yeah, I know." He nodded, he'd missed that too - more than he'd really told anyone really, well apart from Savannah but she tended to be the one person he talked to about things. "I'm around if you want to talk though." He reminded her, making the same offer she'd made to him.

"I wouldn't be surprised if you have a pink yoga mat too," she said, chuckling. "Between this and the cheerleader outfit, there's so much I have to learn about you."

"Well I don't know. Everything is weird here. Callen has furniture and lives with you and Sam for example," she said with a small shrug. "Glad to hear you're still a beach bum at heart."

"Thanks," she said, glancing at him and smiling. "I appreciate it. But I'm going to leave you to go find your girl and have a dance. There's still some people I haven't gotten around to talking to yet."
