RP: Savannah's Birthday party/Their Anniversary
Who: everyone? (Please add your tags)
Where: the club
When: Saturday, September 8, 2012
Summary: Another party

Savannah wasn't good with surprise parties, which was why she was planning her own birthday/anniversary part with Brian's help. Everything was paper based since the 1st anniversary was paper. There were paper decorations, plates and napkins, paper flowers, food that resembled paper. Of course, since it was her birthday, all of that paper tended to be pink. Brian had a lot of it already in stock since they had used it for the baby shower. In a way, Savannah was the queen of recycling since her decorations were always pink and Disney themed. It also made Brian's life very easy and the room looked perfect, down to the pink Christmas light that had been used for several parties now.

The cake was the best part, though. Savannah did not care that they had taken the design from a 1st birthday party. It was perfect and the two pages had both Happy Birthday and Happy anniversary. Nell had been great and Marty didn't seem to mind that there was so much pink, which was even better. Of course, her husband would have had a problem if he hated pink with three girls in the family.

The dress had taken a little longer. She didn't want to spend a lot of money and wanted something sexy and pink, but most sexy and pink looked like they belonged to strippers. She finally found a store like Forever 21 and most of their dresses were around $25. She finally settled on a short purple dress. Not pink, but good enough.

With everything ready, the music picked by Sean, they were ready to party.

"I'm sure you do, and I can still deliver more." He nipped Thomas' lip. "Besides, there are much more exciting things to have in your mouth than a silver spoon." Flirting, an art that was lost on the people in this room. Brian liked sex; fuck, he loved sex, but there was something about the chase that no one else seemed to get.

This was another chase, and he waited to see Thomas' reaction. A small sense of victory was shown in his smile as Thomas kissed him back. One hand slid down the man's body and wrapped around his waist.

Brian pulled back and stared impassibly. A once over had never intimidated him and despite all of his complaints, he knew he was in an even better shape that he used to be, however the words had him groaning. "Oh Jesus fucking Christ, don't tell me that you're another faggot with moral and will never fuck someone who's in a relationship, because if you are, just... shut up and I'll be happy to look at that ass of yours and pretend that you never opened your mouth. Now, before you say more, since I've had this discussion way too many fucking times, I'm with John, I fuck around, it's no one's business but ours. Would I fuck you right now? No, because I'm not that crass. Would I fuck you? Fuck yeah. Now, don't disappoint me by telling me that you have some moral code that only lets you fuck single men."

TJ couldn't help laughing quietly at the outburst. In just one week he'd already figured out people here were strange and uptight. Of course, it was an uptight that was very different from the uptight TJ had grown up with. Brian Kinney, it seemed, was the one person who could and would actually party in a way TJ could appreciate. He followed Brian's backward motion, using the lack of space to convey more clearly his intentions. "I have one or two rules. Morality is not exactly something most papers would connect with my name in print."

Jesus, infidelity was practically a buzz word created just for his father. It wasn't like TJ had gotten any kind of solid education in the importance of marriage from watching his parents. No matter how much his mom tried, it never seemed to matter. "Single men, attached men, married men, makes no difference to me." He shrugged, watching the other man with an amused smirk. "I'm sure you can imagine, however, that a man in my position is used to a little more discretion about this things."

If he hadn't been before, the fiasco with Sean had been enough to teach him to be a little more careful about who knew he fucked whom.

Brian tightened his hold again, more than happy not to have to deal with some hypocrite spouting Christian values while taking it up the ass. "One or two rules? Maybe we can share rules and see if they contradict each other or not." He had his own rules, but they seldom were an issue. "No relationships, no bottoming, no sleeping together and no extreme kinks. I don't see the pleasure of knives and blood in bed."

He nodded. "That's a good list. An accurate one, because there aren't many men in your position. At least where I come from. They are all deep into their closets. They are also the biggest bunch of hypocritical homophobes, who take it up the ass and then talk about the sanctity of marriage. So no, I'm not sure how it works for the out child of a president, but I doubt you'll get privacy or discretion here. Everyone knows what you're doing and when. Or at least everyone in charge, the techs, and John is one of them. Of course we could solve the problem if I can convince him to have a threesome," he said laughing. The idea was inviting, but he knew John too well.

"Don't worry. You'll figure out how things work here soon enough," he said. "You will also notice that there is a tendency of being monogamous and/or married. Part of it is the fact that protection doesn't work, but mostly not that many people to pick from."

TJ's eyebrow rose, though he didn't say anything. If the man wanted to say he didn't do relationships while at the same time claiming to be with the pretty young tech, that was none of TJ's business. It wasn't like he was actually looking for one himself, which made the idea of everyone there being into monogamy extremely depressing.

"Privacy and discretion are necessary illusions at best," he pointed out. "But, they're illusions I prefer to keep, as a rule. Someone always knows, anyway. I just prefer not to help them along too easily to that knowledge." Especially not if the man's boyfriend was close enough to the men in charge to have that kind of access. Making an enemy like that wasn't high on TJ's list of things to do for fun and high jinks. "I came out at the age of fourteen because the person I chose to trust couldn't keep his mouth shut," he explained honestly, not tiptoeing around something like this. "My bad for trusting the wrong person. But, that's one of only two rules that are non-negotiable."

Brian smirked. "I don't do relationships other than this. He kind of sneaked up on me." And that was a lie. Brian had been obsessed because John had turned him down. It was the challenge that turned into something else. "We are still debating how to define this while celebrating our first anniversary. Either way it's not exclusive. I wouldn't manage and he doesn't ask."

He snorted. "Trust me, even the illusion doesn't exist when you have to tell people where you are, where you are sleeping at night and with whom. Not that I give a fuck, but I know people do." He didn't mention the cameras that made it really impossible, but unlike what people thought he could keep secrets.

As he had said, he didn't know people like Thomas. "Different generations. Not many politicians or CEO want to come out when they have families and they make sure to fuck people who know the rules. A fourteen year old doesn't know the rules. So what's your other rule?"

"It happens." TJ chuckled, trying not to think about Sean. It had been more than a year since he'd last seen him, since the night he accidentally ODed. That wasn't a road he intended to go down again.

"People always do. The illusion still exists, it's just harder to achieve. When I was your boyfriend's age, I didn't just have to tell someone where I was going, I had a Secret Service agent following me around day and night because my father was still in office. Even if he stayed outside the room, he knew what was going on, who I was with at the time. And ditching your detail is not an option. My private life has always been an open secret. And anything that managed to be a real secret didn't stay that way for long. But, I can still try."

TJ shrugged. "Older generations aren't much better if they think they can get something out of it," he replied darkly, thinking again of what had happened with Sean. "If it's going to come out, it will come out. I'm just not inclined to help it along."

He raised the bottle of beer he was still holding, thumb sliding along the neck and circling the mouth as he spoke. "Rule two is I don't suck. Not my thing. Don't mind recieving, but I'm not much of a giver."

Smirking now, he took another sip of beer.

"Not often fortunately. Can you imagine? You meet a person, you fuck the person, you may or may not like the person and suddenly you're in a relationship. The fuck is that?" Brian asked serious. "Might as well be a boring breeder if that were the case.

"It's not the same thing. The Secret Service would pretend even if they obviously knew. Here, the people don't even pretend. Hard to when it's part of the rule that you tell them." He smiled. "And if that weren't enough, we have Savannah. She decides that you're dating someone, she'll plan your wedding, or at least dinner invitations, parties, and lots of hugs. There are two that pretend. Callen and Hanna, been together for a while, or maybe since they got here, have rings, their children called them family, they have family dinners, but no one mentions the rings or the fact that they fuck like minks. No one else gets that pass, but then no one really wants to piss off the crazy SEAL that trains you... except me, but that's different."

Brian shook his head. "No, they were worse, much worse I'd say, but mutual interest kept them quiet. You... I don't have to be from your dimension to know that you gave them too much leverage. You must have been every right wing nutjob's wet dream."

He kissed Thomas again, smirking. "Boasting already? How do I know you don't suck if we don't fuck?" He knew that it wasn't what Thomas meant, but he was fine with teasing. "Now, don't you know that giving is so much better than receiving, but terms can be negotiated. You don't suck, I don't bottom, it's all good."

"So, sex doesn't equal true love? Shocking!" TJ's snort was one of derision, at the idea, at how he'd fallen for the faerietale in the past. Shaking that thought off, tilted his head toward a place to sit and take this conversation somewhere a little more comfortable.

The information on people there was appreciated, even if TJ wasn't quite convinced there weren't ways of hanging onto that illusion. But, as he didn't anticipate having a situation that would lead anyone to think he was regularly involved with anyone, it wasn't something he had to worry about at that moment. "So, there are at least some people who know how the rules work. And one hopeless matchmaker and pseudo society maven. And you're the one bucking the system from within?"

TJ snorted. "That only works when they have a mutual interest. But, how about we just say everyone has an opinion on and use for 'the first openly gay son of a president' and leave it there, shall we? This is a party, after all."

And there were so many better things to talk about. "Just a simple fact." TJ smirked. "But, you can always find out for yourself sometime. I'll happily listen to your agreement after the fact."

"I know," he said sighing. "I was devastated when I found out. It was worse than discovering than Santa isn't real," he said, but nodded and followed Thomas to the couch. "God, I really need to do something to this place to make it decent. Have the illusion of a club."

Brian snorted at the summation. "No, two people who think rules apply to all but them and a Southern cheerleader who happens to have adopted Callen has her dad. It's not about the rules, but protecting their family and since there are so many of them, they get what they want." He shook his head. "No, I'm the one who doesn't give a fuck about people, opinions or rules."

He didn't comment further about the politics, but Brian knew how those work without having to discuss them, ad he didn't have any faith in the human race to believe that things were better in another dimension. "When exactly are we finding out how good you are?"

"I have a club at home," TJ offered, drinking his beer and tilting his back to stare up at the ceiling. "Well, I'm one of the lead partners, so it's not mine. But, it is. Opened about a year ago. Night club and restaurant, called it The Dome because it has this great view of the Captiol building from the patio. It's awesome."

Raising his head, he turned and laid his arm along the back of the couch. "So, they know the rules," he reiterated. "Protecting family is part of the rules where I come from, even when that family is fucked up. We rise or fall as one unit." Which sometimes really sucked, but what could you do? They couldn't all be as free as Brian seemed to be. "Must be nice."

Taking another long pull from his beer, he watched the other man's face in silent flirtation for a moment, then smirked. "I don't know. When can you ditch your boyfriend long enough to try?"

"Nice. I have a club at home, too, and it's mine. It's Babylon and the place to be on Liberty Avenue, aka fag town, but it's not PC to call it that. I've been running it for seven years on my spare tie,' he said, grinning. "I bet not as fancy and no restaurant, but there's good musics, good alcohol and good drugs, and a backroom that makes any fag salivate. I like to keep my clientele happy."

Brian shrugged. "I guess I have a different set of rules. It's much simpler. No excuses, no apologies, no regrets. It all boils down to I don't give a fuck about the rules."

He turned toward Thomas, answering that smirk with one of his own. "This party is going to go on for hours. How about now?"

TJ laughed at the comparison. "Probably not as fancy, no. But, then we don't have a backroom." It was his turn to smirk again. "Just a private VIP lounge for when we want to take the party somewhere a little more private."

Yes, Brian's rules sounded very appealing, even if TJ knew he could never live that way.

The smirk grew slightly more sly. "Lead the way."
