RP: Savannah's Birthday party/Their Anniversary
Who: everyone? (Please add your tags)
Where: the club
When: Saturday, September 8, 2012
Summary: Another party

Savannah wasn't good with surprise parties, which was why she was planning her own birthday/anniversary part with Brian's help. Everything was paper based since the 1st anniversary was paper. There were paper decorations, plates and napkins, paper flowers, food that resembled paper. Of course, since it was her birthday, all of that paper tended to be pink. Brian had a lot of it already in stock since they had used it for the baby shower. In a way, Savannah was the queen of recycling since her decorations were always pink and Disney themed. It also made Brian's life very easy and the room looked perfect, down to the pink Christmas light that had been used for several parties now.

The cake was the best part, though. Savannah did not care that they had taken the design from a 1st birthday party. It was perfect and the two pages had both Happy Birthday and Happy anniversary. Nell had been great and Marty didn't seem to mind that there was so much pink, which was even better. Of course, her husband would have had a problem if he hated pink with three girls in the family.

The dress had taken a little longer. She didn't want to spend a lot of money and wanted something sexy and pink, but most sexy and pink looked like they belonged to strippers. She finally found a store like Forever 21 and most of their dresses were around $25. She finally settled on a short purple dress. Not pink, but good enough.

With everything ready, the music picked by Sean, they were ready to party.

"I'll worry when they have teeth, and I can still pump the milk and feed it to them. I mean doctors say to give them breast milk until they are a year old, right? And I'm sure that they have teeth by then," she said, laughing.

"It doesn't matter whether she wants or not. It's one of those DC customs the rest of the country doesn't get." She shrugged, not really concerned. In the end, they'd get used to things here, but Savannah was willing to give them time to adjust.

"On the other hand, we get to see so many other people. I guess it's a trade-off. Honestly, I didn't like it when it was just me and Marty at home. I liked it better with Sam and G, and then all the family would show up. I don't really like being alone," she said, thinking about it. "There are plenty of ways to do it. The concerts, we go to Church and brunch with Derek and Emily, sometimes with Sean and Troy, we make time."

"Well yes, but not as the only food source," April replied with a laugh of her own.

"It's still good to know about those DC customs that the rest of the world doesn't get," she said. "At least when you have a Governor and a President around."

"You have a bigger family," April answered. "Although I can't say I don't enjoy having people around, I do. I love eating with everyone most of the time, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the times it's just us too."

"I never said only food source, only that I'm never stopping breast feeding. They can have their milk in the morning and at night and pumping during the day. They'll stay nice, big and hard. Totally worth it," she said, nodding. She wasn't even joking. If she could breastfeed until she got pregnant again, she would do it.

"Everyone here does know them. That's the thing, even without important politicians. They are federal agents and military. We're the ones catching up." And she hated it. She didn't like not knowing things.

"I know, but it's not just that. When we were young, there were the people from the church. Later, there were the Hellcats. The idea of me and Marty alone all the time is depressing more than exciting. Don't get me wrong, I love time alone with him, but when it was all the time, we always found a reason to go see G or invite them over." She really wasn't good at not having friends and family all around.

"As long as you're all happy," April said with a laugh, though she'd never do it herself. But then she'd never do what Jenna had done either and choose formula over breastfeeding when the option to breastfeed was there.

Savannah wasn't the only one who hated not knowing things, April was just the same way. She hated feeling stupid. "At least you didn't demonstrate just how much you didn't know, unlike me," she said.

"That sounds a bit like home," she said. "My childhood home, I mean. We were four sisters, and there were always people coming and going. Then again we were six people living in one house in Seattle so I suppose it wasn't much different there. I can still appreciate those times when it's just us though, but yes, I wouldn't want it to be only us always. I need people around me."

"How can I not?" She looked down to her chest. "They have never looked this good, not even when I was competing. I'll try to hang on to them as long ad possible."

Savannah shrugged. "Only because I went to pick them up and got the short version before even approaching them. It's the only reason it even occurred to me to ask for an explanation."

She smiled. "That sounds nice, having people around. I'll take my alone time in short doses, like before bed and special dates. Otherwise we both enjoying having people around so it works for us."

Now that was an insecurity that April had never had, but she'd had others (her nose) and she could understand the wish to keep a change in appearance. She wouldn't want her old nose back for anything in the world. "Children does do a lot for the chest area," she said instead, smiling. Her own breast was bigger than they'd ever been before.

"Either way, thank you for telling me," she said.

April smiled. "It was," April said. "I miss them, but if I hadn't come here I wouldn't have met Eliot, and I wouldn't be expecting this child." It was a trade off, but she secretly couldn't help but to hope that someday, somehow, by some miracle, she'd see her family again and be able to introduce Eliot and their child to them.
