RP: Tyra & Tim
Who: Tim, Tyra
Where: Tim's room
When: November 24th, 2011 (late)
Summary: Tyra decides not to put off talking.

Tyra had spoken to a few people at the dinner and had enjoyed herself to a point but after the football and everything else, she really just felt like going home and having a few drinks to relax. She wasn't a big drinker on the whole; having been allowed alcohol at a young age meant that she was usually happy with a beer after a long day and she didn't move on to anything harder. However, today she thought she probably needed something more to deal with everything she was feeling and so when she got back, she showered and changed into something she could sleep in before going into the kitchen. Grabbing a bottle of spirits, she then made her way to Tim's room, hoping he'd be there.

Knocking, she opened the door when he said to come in and smiled.

"Hey Tim," she said, closing the door behind her and leaning against it as she looked at him. "So I thought you might want to help me out with some of this," She gestured to the tequila. "And I figured we need to talk. The last few days have made me realize I don't know what you've told these people and I don't want to go putting my feet all over the life you have here."

And that was the crux of it, really.

Savannah had told her things, Alexis too, and Tyra didn't want to get in the way of any life Tim had going on. Despite anything that might have been said, they had had months apart and Tyra at least had tried to forget anything and put it down to Tim having been lonely before taking off. But knowing that he hadn't made her want to get everything out in the open and also just talk. She missed home, she missed her family and this, Tim, was familiar. She needed that.

"Seeing, Tim, there's a difference," she said. And perhaps she had had a thing for football players but it was hardly avoidable when even Landry could make the team. Tyra hadn't seen that one coming. The football player she'd seen in Austin was nothing more than some fun but it had been a way to settle in, it had been familiar. She'd needed that. "It wasn't anything serious anyway. Ended before I finished my first year at UT."

She closed her eyes when he talked about staying alive. Tyra didn't think she'd realized how serious things were when she'd first gotten here. She'd been overwhelmed with the security and the super powers and the sex issue but she hadn't thought about the fact that they were trying to stay under the radar.

"If I was nice to you, you wouldn't know what to do," She opened her eyes. "You weren't so bad, I guess."

"Course there is." Time grinned - he got that there was a difference, it was just like the way he was always only ever seeing some girl, he didn't date - not really. He let people call it dating, but Tim had never really been fond of the idea of being tied down like that.

He laid there beside her, it was comfortable and familiar in so many ways and made him miss being at home, like this could just be any other night when Tyra had stayed over and they'd stayed up late talking - though he supposed they did a little bit more than talking most nights, but it was good either way.

"You weren't so bad either." He told her shaking his head. Not nearly as bad as he'd tried to make her believe at times. It was just easier when he didn't have to be accountable to anyone.

"Stop smiling," She smacked his shoulder lightly. "Ass."

She closed her eyes again and realized how tired she was. She'd spent so much energy getting to know people this week and trying to learn all that she could that she hadn't slept much. It was difficult to, she thought, when you were up half the night thinking about what was happening in a different world. She was thankful for training despite her grumbling about it; it gave her something physical to tire her out.

"I know. We were just never in the right place. Literally this last time, I guess," She looked at him, pausing before speaking again. The last thing Tyra wanted was to go back to her own bed and sleep, knowing that if she was there, she'd probably cry thinking of everything she was missing out on back home and she really didn't want that. "Can I sleep here tonight? Just sleep but-" She shrugged. "I miss home. I want something familiar tonight, Tim."

He just laughed when she smacked him, he couldn't help but give her a hard time after all. It was just the way they worked and well her seeing a football player was just too good not to tease a little.

"Yeah, one day maybe." He shrugged - he wasn't going to push it or try to make anything happen. He was good just like this, being friends with Tyra he didn't need to make it anything more than that. They worked well as friends he thought, it was never quite as good when they tried to be anything else, maybe one day though if things worked out like that.

He nodded, "Sure - yeah, you can stay." He had the room and he wasn't going to kick her out because all she wanted to do was sleep. "Course you can."
