RP: Tyra & Tim
Who: Tim, Tyra
Where: Tim's room
When: November 24th, 2011 (late)
Summary: Tyra decides not to put off talking.

Tyra had spoken to a few people at the dinner and had enjoyed herself to a point but after the football and everything else, she really just felt like going home and having a few drinks to relax. She wasn't a big drinker on the whole; having been allowed alcohol at a young age meant that she was usually happy with a beer after a long day and she didn't move on to anything harder. However, today she thought she probably needed something more to deal with everything she was feeling and so when she got back, she showered and changed into something she could sleep in before going into the kitchen. Grabbing a bottle of spirits, she then made her way to Tim's room, hoping he'd be there.

Knocking, she opened the door when he said to come in and smiled.

"Hey Tim," she said, closing the door behind her and leaning against it as she looked at him. "So I thought you might want to help me out with some of this," She gestured to the tequila. "And I figured we need to talk. The last few days have made me realize I don't know what you've told these people and I don't want to go putting my feet all over the life you have here."

And that was the crux of it, really.

Savannah had told her things, Alexis too, and Tyra didn't want to get in the way of any life Tim had going on. Despite anything that might have been said, they had had months apart and Tyra at least had tried to forget anything and put it down to Tim having been lonely before taking off. But knowing that he hadn't made her want to get everything out in the open and also just talk. She missed home, she missed her family and this, Tim, was familiar. She needed that.

Tim laughed when she teased him about maturing. "All it took was winding up in another dimension for a few months and suddenly I grew up." He told her shaking his head, he didn't think he'd changed that much, he was still that same guy, there just weren't willing and ready rally girls around - and now with the whole pregnancy thing he wasn't going to be doing at least that part of sex, he could figure out something else if he really wanted to, but there just hadn't been someone he could try with.

"Maybe a little." Though him more than her - Tyra had always been better with people than him, and that she stuck around as long as she did, despite everything - well that said he was definitely the lucky one.

He chuckled and shoved at her knee when she laughed. "Just wait, soon it's gonna be you singing too - it's not quite so funny then." He told her. He hadn't minded some of it though, the country night at least, it was fun enough getting to hear some familiar music and dancing the way he was used to. He'd with hold judgment until he saw the other nights before saying how they were.

"We should have sent you here years ago," she said with an exaggerated sigh. "Could have saved us all some trouble, Tim."

And she was back to teasing but making fun of Tim had always been a staple when dealing with him. There had been times when they were barely talking and yet they'd still trusted each other on a base level that nothing could change.

"How do you know I don't sing like an angel?" she asked, using her hand to brace herself so she didn't move too much when he shoved at her. She kicked at his leg in retaliation. "I could be the next big thing and you just haven't realized."

"You've have missed me too much." He assured her with a smirk.

He raised an eyebrow at her when she suggested how she might sing. "Like an angel, huh?" He gave her a considering look and shook his head. "I don't know about that, I think we'd have known by now if you were gonna be the next big thing. Or were you just hiding it so you could go for that degree?"

So much about this place sucked, he hated it and he wished he could be anywhere else than stuck here with these confusing people and their rules and training and teams and all the bullshit that made up what they did here. But then Tyra had shown up, and well, it didn't fix anything, but maybe it was a little easier to deal with when you had someone around who understood you.

"Like an angel," she agreed, just about managing to keep a straight face. "Well, you know, so many people have gone and made it big," She giggled a little. "I was just hiding my light under a bushel until the time was right, you know? For my star to shine."

She laughed a little more. "I'm not great but I'm not that bad. I don't think I've set myself up to fail anyway," Tyra shrugged and sipped once more at the tequila before offering it to Tim. "Take that off of me else I'm going to be drunk and Sam's gonna yell at me in the morning."

Tyra smiled happily as she thought about the weekend. One more day and then she could have a lie-in and wake up at a normal time. "Whether I can sing or not, it's gonna be fun. Like Alexis said, if people complain then they can get up there and sing themselves."

Tim laughed when she managed to actually say all of that without cracking a smile - it was pretty impressive at least. "You know what they say about hiding your light under a bushel dontcha?"

He grinned and nodded if he could manage to make his way through a few songs and not feel like he could never show his face again then Tyra was going to be just fine. "You'll be just fine, I've got faith in you." He told her, taking the tequila bottle from her.

"You never did learn how to hold your liquor, you got to start early in the day and just learn how to function that way." He told her shaking his head as he took a long sip himself. "Then you can still do the work, and no one yells at you." Well, most people didn't.

"Your right, it'll be fun, can't wait to hear your big moment when you let your light shine." He told her grinning.

"What do they say about hiding a light under a bushel, Tim?" she asked, snorting with amusement again. She'd gotten a fit of the giggles and she was trying her hardest to keep them under control but perhaps she was just tipping over the line into slightly drunk.

"I did," Tyra replied. "I just didn't drink half as much as you, I like a good beer or two but I don't drink anything stronger too often. Besides, I preferred to turn up to dinner sober unlike some," she added, giving him a pointed look. "Or practice for that matter."

"It'll be great, I'll be great. The music scene around here better watch out," she said before cracking up into laughter again.

"That you're not supposta, that's what." Tim said drawing it out slowly since he hadn't actually be expecting her to answer, because everyone knew the song. Still it was good to see her laughing even if it might have had more to do with the amount of alcohol she'd had that night than anything else - he missed this.

"Sober is overrated." Or it had been, he'd spent far more time sober here than he ever had at home. "I'll be mostly sober in the morning, just you wait." He assured her.

"Yeah, you'll be amazing." He agreed with a laugh.

"There I was thinking it was going to be some words of wisdom and you quote a damn song at me," she said, still smiling before shaking her head. "I was never one for hiding away anyway. Let's face it, I wasn't the most... Demure girl in Dillon."

"Mostly sober? Are you planning on finishing that bottle?" she asked, wondering if perhaps they'd both had a little too much to stay just buzzed. Then again, she'd seen Tim in states where by rights he should have been on the floor or out cold.

"Mmhmm," She shifted onto her back and looked up at the ceiling, still chuckling occasionally as something funny popped into her head. Tyra turned her head and smirked slightly at him. "I'm always amazing."

"People sing that song for a reason Tyra," Tim said rolling his eyes. "It's great words of advice, why do you think they make kids sing it?" He laughed, "You weren't the worst either."

Tim glanced at the bottle balancing on his knee, a few months ago he'd have been tempted to finish off the rest of the bottle all on his own, but he shook his head. "Nah, I think I'm good without it."

He grinned, it was always easy with Tyra, too easy sometimes, but he liked it here - getting a little bit of what it was like being home having here there with him. "Yeah, you are, that's what happens when you spend time with me."

"People sing that song because they can't be assed to make up a new one for children to sing, Tim," she countered. "I know. I just don't think I can really be accused of not shining. I made sure I did."

"Hm," Tyra was surprised a little, not least because Tim had drank quite heavily even when she'd last been out with him to celebrate Saracen and Julie's engagement. "See? Maturing."

"Oh- I'm only amazing when I spend time with you. Is that it?," She chuckled. "Now who's had too much to drink? Any more and you'll talk about 'Texas Forever'."
