RP: Tyra & Tim
Who: Tim, Tyra
Where: Tim's room
When: November 24th, 2011 (late)
Summary: Tyra decides not to put off talking.

Tyra had spoken to a few people at the dinner and had enjoyed herself to a point but after the football and everything else, she really just felt like going home and having a few drinks to relax. She wasn't a big drinker on the whole; having been allowed alcohol at a young age meant that she was usually happy with a beer after a long day and she didn't move on to anything harder. However, today she thought she probably needed something more to deal with everything she was feeling and so when she got back, she showered and changed into something she could sleep in before going into the kitchen. Grabbing a bottle of spirits, she then made her way to Tim's room, hoping he'd be there.

Knocking, she opened the door when he said to come in and smiled.

"Hey Tim," she said, closing the door behind her and leaning against it as she looked at him. "So I thought you might want to help me out with some of this," She gestured to the tequila. "And I figured we need to talk. The last few days have made me realize I don't know what you've told these people and I don't want to go putting my feet all over the life you have here."

And that was the crux of it, really.

Savannah had told her things, Alexis too, and Tyra didn't want to get in the way of any life Tim had going on. Despite anything that might have been said, they had had months apart and Tyra at least had tried to forget anything and put it down to Tim having been lonely before taking off. But knowing that he hadn't made her want to get everything out in the open and also just talk. She missed home, she missed her family and this, Tim, was familiar. She needed that.

Tim laughed, "Oh I'm sure they've already come up with the perfect punishment for me, they've had long enough to come up with something." He assured her - easier to joke about how long he'd been gone than actually think about it, and wonder just what his family thought, or how hard it was for any of them.

"I don't know about big sister," Tim said with a small grin, Savannah was a good girl though, and she helped him out. Tim really didn't know what to call that, it was just the way they were. "No, I didn't tell them, no one here knows - well Morgan knows, but he's the only one I haven't told anyone else, and I don't plan on it." He shook his head, "It doesn't matter, I went and I'm out and I'm not goin' back."

He huffed a short laugh and nodded, "Yeah that takes a little getting used to - it's like none of them really understand what it means to just be normal, they all have their own versions of it, but it's not real." He said shaking his head.

"It was better at Easter when we played," He told her, they hadn't had to be careful, they could actually get into the game. He'd liked it then. It wasn't really satisfying this time. "It's easier if you don't think about it."

"I did hear something about your being a slave when you get back," she joked before growing serious. "Billy built the house, y'know? He figured you were coming back at some point to yell at him for not doing it right but I made sure it was right where you wanted it with a big porch you could sit out on."

"It's still not right," she murmured, almost under her breath. She took another sip of the liquor and reached across to place it on the nightstand. "I get why you did it but," She sighed. "It just isn't right, Tim. It never was right."

She chuckled. "Yeah, they're obviously the weird ones, not us," she agreed with a small smile. "But listening to Alexis talk about how her mom took her out of school to go to Paris for the day and how her dad's friends with all these important people. It just seemed worlds away."

"Life's easier when you don't think about it," Tyra hugged her knees to her chest and rested her chin on them, looking at Tim.

"Yeah that sounds about right." Tim nodded, he could deal with it if it meant he got to go home though. He didn't care whatever it was they wanted him to do to make up for it, he'd have gladly paid that price. "I hoped he would, we were gonna do it together, it would have been great." He sighed, he didn't let himself think about it too much - it was always that thing he wanted, to go home, get his land and his house and Skeeter and just be there where he was supposed to be instead of getting caught up in all of this. But he didn't think about it often, not anymore, it just made all of this harder than it needed to be.

"When have I ever done the right thing?" He asked her, pushing back until he hit the wall and stretching his legs out in front of him, tipping his head back. He didn't do the right thing, he just did the thing that came into his head, right or not.

"They're the weird ones, trust me." Tim had been there long enough that he knew better - even some of them thought they were weird too - he wasn't going to start wondering whether or not there was something wrong with him.

"Always is," He agreed. "One of the few things about this place that hasn't changed."

"I know. I guess we all thought that if we built the house, you might come back. Though if you had, I had a speech all worked out. I had plenty of time to work on it," she said, looking away. "I'm sorry, you probably don't want to hear any of this stuff. I'm not exactly helping anybody's mood talking on like this."

"You do it plenty," Tyra said, shifting to face Tim properly. "I should have come back sooner. I love your brother, Tim, and he's the best thing that ever happened to Mindy but I don't know how he could let you take the fall for that."

"So, to talk about things here. Savannah says Alexis might have a crush on you although you probably know. You've never been oblivious to women," She grinned. "Another Becky?"

"I doubt you were the only one with a speech prepared." He told her, he expected to hear it from everyone he'd left back at home, Billy and Mindy, he wouldn't even be surprised if Stevie had something to say about his disappearance. "It's alright, we can talk about that if you want, or we can talk about anything else." They were both going to be in pretty poor spirits given everything, but at least they had each other.

Tim shook his head. "He did it because I told him to - he had a family, he had Stevie and there was no way I was gonna let him take the fall for that. They needed him more than they needed me."

He nodded when she asked about Alexis. "Yeah, she does." He hadn't missed it, it wasn't exactly the same as Becky but he could see the similarities there that had Tyra bringing her up in the first place. "Something like that," He nodded, "She's a good kid, strange but then everyone here is so it wasn't that surprising."

Tyra shook her head quickly. "I think they'd be that pleased to see you, there wouldn't be any kind of speech for a while," she admitted. "My speech was all around you telling me you had no plans other than building the house and then leaving me anyway," She poked his leg with her foot. "Jackass."

"But it was his fault, Tim," And this was what Tyra disliked about the entire situation. She knew Billy had always been there for Tim, always looked out for him and yet this- A criminal record. "I get why you did it, it just still doesn't sit right."

"She's certainly not from Dillon, that's for sure," Tyra laughed a little. "Savannah's more like somebody from back home. So who else are you close to here?"

"They'd come eventually, you have met your sister right?" Tim reminded Tyra with a chuckle. And truthfully he'd love to hear any speeches anyone had about his disappearing, no matter what they were about - if it meant he got to hear them at all. "My plans never changed, build the house, never do anything illegal ever again, and grow old in Texas. It just didn't work out that way."

"I know it was, I helped him though, I did it too - I wasn't gonna let Steve grow up without having him there. He always took care of me when I needed it." Tim had made Billy let him do it, and as much as he'd hated it and held it over Billy's head when he got out he wouldn't have done it another way. "Nothing about it was right, Tyra. It's just the way it happened."

"Not even close, I don't think she'd even fit in in Dallas." He said with a short laugh. "Savannah and Alexis, I've talked to Derek more than most people." He told her, "We were partners for I while I guess, I dunno." He shrugged, things had changed with all the new people arriving and the teams switching and moving houses, things were different there. Derek knew the most about him though out of everyone. "Neal and Harvey are alright, I wouldn't say we were close though."

"Oh I didn't say there wouldn't be anything at all," she pointed out, grinning." Just that you might get ten minutes of peace before they start," She laughed. "Yeah, Mindy's Mindy. And I hope you get your dream one day. If anybody deserves it, you do, Tim."

Tyra decided to drop the subject. There was so many times after Tim had left when she'd spoken to Mindy about it and even Billy a few times too but she'd stopped when she realized resolving anything wasn't going to change anything.

"Look at you surrounding yourself with pretty girls. Some things never change," She chuckled. "Derek was nice, letting me sit on your afternoon," she said. She didn't know anything more about him though if Tim liked him, there had to be something about the man that was different. "I like Harvey, I told him I'd get us some cocktail umbrellas for the summer cocktails at Christmas. I think we should crank up the heating and pretend like we're at home, ignore the snow outside."

Tim ducked his head and smiled, he seriously doubted he deserved that much, but if he happened to get it he wasn't about to send it back just because he thought he was undeserving. He never claimed to be unselfish after all.

There was still a lot of history between them, and still a lot of the things from home they'd never really had a chance to talk about before now. Tim didn't blame Tyra for bringing it up - even if what happened with Billy wasn't something he wanted to talk about. It was over and it was done with and right or wrong nothing was going to change that Tim had been the one to take the blame instead of Billy.

"Figure I gotta keep some things similar if I'm gonna be stuck here." He said and shrugged with a grin. It wasn't his fault the good looking ones seemed to like him. "He's nice, he likes talkin' a lot - I'd avoid him if that's not something you're lookin' to do." He said. He chuckled when she suggested turning up the heat for Christmas. "I think that sounds like a great idea, I don't need snow to make it Christmas. I think that'd go along pretty well with the theme."

Tyra chuckled when she saw Tim smile. He didn't smile that often, not properly, and she liked being the one to put the smile on his face. It was good.

"Well you're doing an admirable job at that part," she said with a smile. She reached across again to grab the bottle of tequila, deciding that she wasn't nearly fuzzy enough. She didn't want to get sloppy drunk but a bit more of a buzz wouldn't be a bad thing. "Then again, I'm sure the girls here aren't blind."

"Some of us don't have a problem with talking to strangers," she said, snorting. "We can even get some country music, teach the New Yorkers how to dance properly. Unless you've forgotten how to dance now you're a big city boy."
