Summary: Tyra arrives in Omega unexpectedly.
Tyra was busier than she wanted to be. Although Thanksgiving was next week and she was going back home for it, she had essays to write and deadlines to hit before Christmas and she was well aware that Mindy or her mom would probably find some drama to involve her in during her long weekend at home.
She was still at the University of Texas and had started her third year this fall. Tyra was enjoying the challenge; university and life there had lived up to the promise and she was so glad every day that she'd broken the Collette curse just as she'd planned to. If only her family felt the same; her mom was already talking about Tyra settling down and getting a nice job in Dillon and Mindy wanted her to get more involved with her, Billy and the kids. She didn't blame her sister - three kids under the age of three was an awful lot to handle - but it wasn't her business and Tyra had never hesitated in telling Mindy that every time she got a bit pushy.
Finishing a study session in the library, Tyra decided to go home and fix herself a sandwich and grab her books before a scheduled one-on-one with her English professor. She walked back to her apartment and got to her door, rummaging in her bag for her keys. Slotting one of them in the top lock on the door, it didn't work and she twisted the key harder.
Snap!
"No... No, no, no, no, no," Tyra muttered under her breath as she jerked the key out. Or more accurately, half of it. "Great. Just... Great."
Getting her cell out of her bag, she scrolled through to her landlord's number and pressed 'call'. Nothing happened. Looking at the signal bars, she saw she had none and breathed in deeply, annoyed. So no key and no landlord. On a Sunday.
Knowing that her English books were in the apartment as well as her draft summary for the assignment that she wanted feedback on, she decided that the only option was a locksmith. She knew there was one not too far away though she didn't know if it was open and so she hefted her bag back onto her shoulder and started walking quickly. Hopefully she'd be able to get there and back before her class although she probably wouldn't have time for the sandwich.
She'd just gotten to the locksmiths twenty minutes later when she heard a noise. Turning her head to look back, she felt something sting her in the neck and then everything went very dark.
Waking up - and not knowing how long she'd been out nor how it had happened - she felt groggy and pressed a hand to her face until her vision cleared. She noticed the small room she was in and panic started to war with the confusion. "What- Where am I?" she asked, looking from left to right.
