"You-" Tyra giggled at him. She could only imagine how shocked he must have felt at the time. "You blew a hole in the wall with your hand? For real?"
"Do you think it was better not knowing where you were?" Tyra asked, not sure which she'd have preferred. She wouldn't have been able to see Tim, sure, but at least she'd have known he was safe. "You just disappeared and I'd been sure after the Lions win that you were going to stay, build your house. We all were."
She shrugged and forced a smile. "I'll get over it. Things rarely go our way, Tim. You know that."
And that was the crux of it. Some people, good people, could get on and get out of Dillon and make a life for themselves without any kind of fuss. She'd seen it happen before. But for people like her and Tim, things would only go good for a while before blowing up in their faces.
