RP: Auggie's arrival
Who: August Anderson and others
Where: Washington DC to Arlington, Virginia
When: November 14, 2011
Summary: Auggie arrives in Omega

His ride didn't show up, which had happened once or twice before, Auggie could forgive a guy for being late after all. What was worrisome though was that his phone wasn't working and his key code suddenly wasn't working for the building security either. A few more attempts to make calls became fruitless and that left Auggie to figure things out on his own.

First was getting to his safe house, once there he could regroup try to make some calls again and come up with a plan of action. He dropped his own phone and started the journey to Arlington. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he wasn't going to worry about that just yet, keeping himself safe was his main priority. Once he could assure himself a few minutes privacy he'd break out his laptop, and get back in touch with the DPD.

Of course, his plan was further thwarted when he made it to Arlington and his safe house seemed to not be where he left it. And that more than anything else was what had him actually worried. He could deal with everything else up to this point, he had plans and measures in place, but his safe house was by definition safe, and to find that it suddenly wasn't? Well Auggie at a loss, but he didn't let himself stick around for long, instead changing his course of direction and working on a new plan. A minute to breath though and he was moving again, deciding to go for crowded places, a coffee shop or something like that would be ideal, hiding in plain sight was the best he had for the moment - hopefully it would give him a chance to get his computer set up, grab a burn phone and try to make a few calls to get things figured out.

At least it was quiet around them, they really must have had a SWAT team around to get so many people to silence themselves so completely, or maybe they'd disappeared all together. Either way it made it easier for Auggie to follow the man who had sat down with him out side and into the waiting car, listening to the sound of not only his own footsteps but those moving outside as well.

"Oh no problem, I prefer things to be a little cozy when I ride in the back seat, so this works out just fine." Auggie said amiably folding his hands in his lap settling between the two men on either side of him as the car pulled away from the curb.

"John," Auggie answered when asked who he was. "John Barton. Nothing so special as NCIS myself, say what does that mean? I never was very good keeping all those things straight, I mean can't the government just keep everything simple and easy? It'd make it a lot easier on guys like me." He could keep right on going like this all day if necessary. "Oh but like I was saying I'm a computer programer, free lance mostly, picking up jobs whenever they come up. Did you guys go to Datatech this year? It was pretty sweet. Is that what this is about? Because I know I've had a lot of people ask me about the hack I made, but you know it's not so great that you needed to send the SWAT out for me. A phone call would have sufficed."

If Sam were not the suspicious kind, he would have bought the act, but he was suspicious and he didn't believe anyone. "Very nice to meet you, Br. Barton. Of course you don't mind if we check. Deeks, find me an ID." The sooner they got the man's identity, the faster this would go.

"We would have called except your phone isn't working. Your computer isn't working either. In fact nothing works and nothing is where it's supposed to be, and yet you handled it wonderfully," Sam said as he drove North and into Maryland. "I should tell you that we've had you on camera for the past few hours, since everything stopped making sense."

Savannah sighed. "Gosh, you really take a long time to talk to people, and then you wonder why people don't like it." She turned her head around. "I'm Savannah, and what he should really tell you is that all the lies aren't going to make a different, because none of it matters. Usually, we'd show all the things that are different before telling you a very incredible story that you won't believe, but we can't. We might as well try something else. Can you give you cover my hand with yours?" she said reaching back.

"It's nice to meet you too Special Agent Hanna." Auggie smiled, this was going to be a long day, but then he'd known that the minute he realized his ride wasn't showing up.

Auggie shrugged when told he'd handled the situation well. "What can I say, when you lose your eye sight and your entire world changes adapting to a phone with no signal and a broken computer suddenly becomes a much easier thing to do. It's not a big deal really." Of course there were cameras there were cameras everywhere these days he wasn't surprised to hear that they'd seen his trip from DC to Arlington and his movements since.

And then there was another voice, a young woman by the sounds of it when she began to address him. Not exactly the sort of thing he'd have expected from NCIS, but then nothing about today was going as expected. "It's a pleasure to meet you Savannah, or it might have been under different circumstances." He huffed a short breath and nodded when she started mentioning showing him incredible things he wouldn't believe. "Yes I don't think that plan would work very well, but you're more than welcome to try. I'll do my very best to picture anything you want to show me. I have been told I have an excellent imagination." He told her and grinned.

Still he wasn't against playing along, at least until he got more information so he reached out his hand until he found hers. "So what are you going to be showing me Savannah?"

Savannah smiled. "Good, but Sam is going to have to slow down or soon I'll be showing how well I can throw up and trust me no imagination needed. Looking back and driving is ewww," she said, making a face.

She waited until he took her hand. "Don't be afraid," she said, calmly before changing her water to pure ice and after a moment water and then metal, and then back to normal. "It's my hand. You know that it's my hand because you didn't let go and you're not imagining this."

Savannah squeezed the man's hand. "What Sam didn't say is that he used to be NCIS. We all used to be something else and from the Sam's words you were a lot more than a computer hacker."

"On October 1 of 2010, some idiotic scientists started an experiment. As far as we know it was financed by the military and this weapon if successful would allow them to travel through different dimensions and gain technological advantages," Sam picked up the explanation. "Things didn't go as planned. They opened rifts that they can't control. People move through dimensions and we don't understand exactly how or why."

He sped up again as Savannah turned around and he reached for the crackers and gave them to her. "The president has signed a very secret decree creating a new agency of all the people arriving from the other dimensions. Anyone traveling through dimension is considered an enemy of the state unless joins the organization. We find people arriving from other dimensions and do this song and dance before you can do something stupid and get yourself killed. We also get superpowers as you've seen from Savannah's demonstration. This is where we would have shown you that DC doesn't exist and that New York is the capital and that the World Trade Center is still standing, but it doesn't work in this case. Now, before you ask me what I'm smoking, can you give us your name? It's so much more friendlier than one of them taking your ID by force."

The shifts he felt on his hand were hard to explain, more than just some sort of trick, or perhaps just a very good one. "Say that's quite a trick, you didn't tell me this trip was going to include a show, I'm surprised I haven't heard of you guys before if this is how you bring people in." He said, wishing more than ever he could see for himself what he'd felt - there were some things that needed to be seen, things that you couldn't just feel and accept no matter how convincing.

He listened though, let them tell him what had happened, or their version of it. It was hard to believe the words though, easier to believe the feeling of it. Because things like alternate dimensions and super powers they were things that came right out of the comic books, they weren't real. "I was gonna go for a compliment to your imagination, I only thought mine was good - but I'm impressed you came up with all of that."

"John Barton, computer hacker, I told you already. I've got an ID in my bag if you really want it." He said lifting his hands up if anyone wanted to take his bag from him and see for themselves. It was a fantastic story, and whatever he felt had to be top of the line technology that didn't mean he was just going to be giving up his cover story for them because they'd done a few parlor tricks and told him a good story.
