RP: April and Savannah
Who: April and Savannah
Where: Savannah's room
When: January 7
Summary: April goes to talk to Savannah

She was getting a hosue! That was the one thought that had been present in her mind all day. Oh she knew it was not a done deal until she had the keys in her hand, and that she needed a second room mate, but she was on the road to getting a house. It was something worth being excited about, and there were so few things here that were.

After finishing off in the lab with Abby, April walked briskly to Savannah's room, wanting to tell her the news. She was surprised when from inside she heard barking, and even more surprised when Savannah opened the door and a big German Shepherd was standing a bit back behind Savannah.

"You've got a dog!" she exclaimed, a huge smile on her face as she watched the dog. It seemed a bit shy, but April was very used to animals, and loved the to boot. It was impossible not to having been raised on a farm. Stepping inside, she looked at Savannah for a moment. "When did you get it? Is it a she or a he? What do you call... her, I'm guessing?" It was an impossible angle to see for sure, but there were always signs if you knew how to look. Once inside, she squatted down and waited to see if the dog wanted to come and great her.

"I'd rather not wait for something that might never happen, in either reality," she said. "If it happens, then fine, but it's not going I'll be waiting for. I have to make something with my life, something that it's likely to happen."

Savannah smiled. "And I was thinking how I'm getting too old not to have a fiance, but it doesn't really matter. We'll just see what happens."

There she went, talking about what she wanted. Couldn't they all figure out that wanting was relative to what they could do. "It's what's best."

She couldn't say anything to argue that. Waiting around wasn't going to help Savannah, but she didn't think giving up on things were the right way to go either.

"You're not too old," she said instead. "If you live until you're in your eighties or more, what does it matter if you met the man of your dreams at 21 or 31? You can still make a life together, create a home. It's not less of a marriage because it starts later. It might not be exactly what you planned, and I'm not saying sit around and wait and do nothing of your life, just that you shouldn't see the dream as over just because it can't happen now. Things change, who know what will change next?"

"Why would you want to have children when you're old?" she asked with a frown. "Children should have young parents, and not these people having children in their mid forties or later. That's not what God and nature intended. Just because doctors made it happen, it doesn't mean that we should. Children should have parents that are young and have energy and understand the newer generations."

She shook her head. "I'm not going to do that to a child of mine, just like I couldn't have a child here and then forced to leave without him or her." She hadn't really thought of that until now, but if she had a child here, they could use the child to keep her behind or force her to separate. No, she couldn't do that either. "It's all right, April. It's not the end of the world and it's much easier to be realistic than disappointed."

"30 is not old," April replied softly. "Plenty of children have parents who were in their thirties when they were born, as for what God intended, Sarah was ninety and that's a far bit more than thirty."

In the end it would be Savannah's choice and her life, depending of course of what happened here, but she did want her to see that her life didn't need to be over. At least she hoped so. They had to get home one day, didn't they?

"I'm not telling you what to do," she said. "Just, if we do get to go home, keep an open mind?" she said. "See what you want if that happens, judge the situation for what it ends up to be."

"Thirty is not old, but you'll be forty by the time they finish elementary school, and again the fact that people do it doesn't make it right." Savannah was too used to people using the Bible to rebut her arguments to be ruffled. "And if I'm chosen from God, so be it, but I doubt it."

Savannah smiled. "I know, but I'm not thinking about going home. I'll deal with it if it ever happens. For now, I'm focused to what's happening here, and here, there's no husband or family. I'm going to train and become a great agent. Everything else can wait for now."

April still didn't think that was old, and she wasn't about to start thinking herself too old for children. Savannah had a point though, here there was no chance of a family. Not unless you wanted to risk being separated. She still thought it odd that Savannah was so eager to become what she did not want to be a week ago though. Then she'd argued that she would have a family regardless.

It seemed that no matter the opinion might be, Savannah was always certain she was right. She nodded, smiling a bit. "Good luck," she said honestly. "I hope it is truly the right choice for you and that you'll be happy with it."

Taking a deep breath, she decided that it was time she left. She had a lot of thinking to do and plans for tomorrow. It seemed she had two important meetings tomorrow, with two men who had no clue she was coming. "I should go," she said. "It seems I have a lot to do tomorrow so I might as well start planning for it."
