RP: The Funeral
Who: Everyone
Where: 1 Marshall Drive
When: October 19, 2011
Summary: It's a funeral and a meeting at the same time

Leon hated funerals of his men. It was a personal failure. Funerals here were both better and worse. Better because there was no greiving family, but worse, because they were doubly responsible for all the people here. No one here had chosen this, no one had consciously and voluntarily accepted the danger. Despite everything, it was impressive to see how smoothly things went, each person knowing what needed to be done, from the pall bearer to Kepner and everyone in between. Slowly they were becoming a team, whether people saw it or not.

When they were finally at the team recreation house, Leon made sure that they were all there and that the building was secure, before getting everyone's attention. "I apologize for having to do this under the circumstances, but this is the best cover we have." People would have to get used to the fact that everything in their lives was a cover. "Some of you may be aware all ready of the fact that we have three pregnant women in this agency. This has brought up several issues. Ladies and gentlemen, everything you've learned about safe sex just went out the window. Pills and condoms don't seem to work. Whether STDs can be transmitted is up in the air, but I'd assume that if you can get pregnant, you can probably catch something... if we're even able to catch regular illnesses. The point is that we have no idea, so please be very careful unless you want a child.

"The second issue is security. We will keep this secret as long as possible, but mothers-to-be have a glow that will be impossible to hide forever." They also had a huge belly, swollen ankles and mood swings that made war preferable, but that wasn't up to him to mention. "When this comes out, the risks increase. I am confident that everyone here understands what that means and that measures have been taken for temporary shelter. However, we need to start looking at more long term solutions, covers that would allow us to interate with the people of this world. We have to be able to become invisible in plain sight. We will need names that you can live with for the rest of your life, nothing connected to any name you've ever used before. Also we'll be looking at different parts of the country, possibly near cities we know, New York, Miami, LA, Chicago." It was the opposite of what he wanted, but if anyone got capture, Leon wanted the extra time to relocate everyone. "However if you have ideas, speak privately with either Callen or Morgan. Now if there are any questions, I'll be happy to answer what I can."

John scowled. "Seeing as I was only here about a week longer than you, yeah, I know how long you've been here and had a pretty good idea..." Hearing the name Callen stopped him, though. He could have guessed Nate if he thought about it. A part of him was surprised, really, it hadn't been Nate Brian spent his time with instead of John. They were more suited in outlook, certainly. But, Callen? Something really didn't sit right with that thought. "One time with Callen? G Callen. My boss. The guy who's too old and too boring. That Callen?"

He shook his head. There was no point in getting into it over who Brian slept with. John had known going into this that the man had sex with random men every night. It was what it was. "I wasn't going to get their names. Just see if there were any within the enlisted men under 35 with questionable test results and see if their pictures looked familiar to you. But, I wasn't thinking about the clubs. I could probably get into their security systems and run facial recognition on you then pull the information for anyone you're with in the videos. But, the chances most of them even have security cameras like that..."

John sighed. That was where his plan fell apart.

"Well, aren't you some kind of math genius or something? You like physics, then you must know how to do multiplications. Ten months and two weeks makes for two hundred and fifty-four day, take away the last two months we've been together, the days that I didn't score, the repeats, there were days that were more than one, that makes... Seriously, are you going to do facial recognition for two hundred people? And what about the people in congress, other agents?" He looked at John and sighed. "It seemed like the easiest way to get information we needed. Sex and blackmail material all at once. It was perfect."

He ignored the question about Callen as he covered the possibilities, mostly because that was the fun part of the conversation. "What's wrong with Callen? He is old and boring, but fucking doesn't require conversation. Would it be better if I mention that I almost had sex with Morgan? Or not?"

He smiled after a moment. "I didn't have sex with Callen, but man, you should have seen your face when I mentioned him," he said, laughing. "I might have given him a hickey but that's about it."

"If I have to, yes I will." It might take him forever, -- or he just wouldn't ever sleep -- but if he needed to run facial recognition on two hundred people to make sure Brian was safe, then he would. Smiling fondly Brian, he reached up to curl his fingers around Brian's neck, thumb brushing along his jaw. "It was a good strategy for you. You couldn't have known this would happen."

John rolled his eyes. "You are twelve. And, no, I don't need to know the almost with Morgan." He'd never wanted to know about any of them. But, he wasn't getting that option. Not if he wanted to make sure Brian was okay. There was something about Callen, though, that was tugging at his mind. Something he'd heard or seen that Brian's teasing had brought back.

Something about a surf suit? That was it! It had been Callen's suit, the one John saw him wearing for pool training, in that duffel bag by the side of the bed when Sam asked him to help...oh shit. And Brian had given Callen a hickey?? It was a wonder he was alive.

"Wait. Why take away the last two months?" Brian was just rounding things off to make the math easier, lower the estimate. It couldn't be what it sounded like, could it?

"You won't, because it's a waste of time. So maybe they aren't two hundred, but less- a hundred and eighty, I don't know, I'm pulling out numbers based on days, but it's not like I'd remember them, names or faces. Do you know how high I am at a club? And really in a backroom they all look pretty much alike. We'll find some other way. Bambi needs to come up with something; she's the doctor, right? And I can't be the only one having sex. We know at least three women who've had sex."

Brian took John's hand and kissed his wrist. "Still is. There are ways without too much bodily contact, and I told you, no regrets." Not even now, despite the news. That's how he lived his life.

"Why exactly am I twelve? For almost fucking Morgan, for being amused at the way you looked when I mentioned Callen or for the hickey? Although I'm only sorry that I didn't fuck Morgan. The rest was all fun. It wasn't as much fun as those gun lessons. Well okay the lessons were boring, but trying to rub against him as much as possible and watch him move away was fun."

Brian was to lie about sex. He had no problem lying on a lot of things, but he didn't lie about sex, which was why he had been truthful about the amount of man and now they were in non sexual territory, but he wouldn't start lying now. "Because I have a very serious teenager at home who doesn't know how to enjoy life, and it's my responsibility to show him all the ways in which he could have fun. Being old, that takes all of my energy." He kissed John softly. "Don't make a big deal out of nothing, okay? There have been a few, nothing major, but the point when I brought you here is that I want you safe. You know that I've always accepted whatever might happen to me. I don't care about that, but you're too young and I need to make sure that you're okay."

John wanted to argue. It wasn't a waste of time if it could keep Brian safe. But, even he had to admit that if Brian couldn't remember names and faces it wouldn't do a whole lot of good. And, he thought he had a pretty good idea of how high Brian was, it was why he never said 'no' to going to the clubs, even before they were together, unless he stood a good chance of convincing Brian to do something else. John hated the idea of Brian out there, stoned out of what little self-preservation he possessed, with no one to watch his back.

"At least three men, too," he pointed out, letting the other drop. "And, do I want to know how you settled on 'Bambi' for April? I assume the Disney character because she doesn't really strike me as the blonde bimbo type. Although, she doesn't have a security-minded bone in her body. She's a sweet person. But, she hasn't found the mindset yet that means she thinks of things like security easily. We'd have to be careful about how she came up with anything. I'm not losing you because she wasn't careful about having samples of blood or tissue around for the government to get it's hands on. There's enough playing God going on with this whole situation."

John snorted. "The second one is why you're twelve. The first, is just you being you. The last is you with a death wish." If what John was starting to suspect was true, Brian was lucky neither Callen or Sam had truly hurt him yet. "I'm just glad he's too honorable to actually shoot you the way I think he wants to sometimes."

Stepping closer, he wrapped his arms around Brian and smiled wickedly. "And here I thought it was your pleasure. Lucky teenager to have such a responsible instructor. I'm afraid I can't do that, though. I have to make a big deal...you're not old," he finished with a smirk. If there was one thing John knew by now, it was not to make a big deal out of things like this. It was enough just to know. He kissed Brian again. "In this case, you want me to worry about you right now. You're still the only person I've ever been with, Brian. If you're okay, I'm okay and we can both breathe a little easier."

"Yes, but I'm not really interested in breeders. Let them worry about pregnancies; that's not something that will ever concern me," he pointed out. "The virginal, innocent thing coupled with the wide eyed look, like a deer staring at a light. You should have seen the first time I spoke to her and asked who fucked other man," Brian said, laughing.

"This is why I do it, the hickey I mean. It's because I know how much he wants to hit me, how much he hates that I'm anywhere near him," he said, chuckling. "They all play at being Mr. Cool, but I only have to get near them and they lose it. It's wonderful."

He sighed. "Look, I don't know about security, but I'm sure they'll have to come up with something. There are just too many of us not to consider. Until then- I don't know, John. Other than my cancer surgery, I don't remember a time in my life when I haven't had sex. I don't know how to do this. This is much worse than any hit team sent to kill us." He hugged John tight. "I guess I'll just have to blow you regularly until we can find a way to be certain."

John stopped caring about nicknames for April, Sam and Callen's potential relationship, Brian's need push other people's buttons, all of it, when Brian hugged him. Brian didn't admit to a lot of things. But, he showed them in the things he did, the actions he took that seemed "out of character" compared to what he let the rest of the world see. Sometimes John misread things, but he was learning to read those gestures no one else got to see.

Arms wrapped tightly around Brian's waist, he simply held on for a moment before pulling back only as far as was necessary not to go cross-eyed. "We'll find a way through it, Brian. I'm going to be right here and we'll figure how to do this. Whatever it takes. I'll put in my own research. I'll borrow April's. We'll find a way to be certain." He smirked slightly. "Look at it as part of continuing my education, teaching me alternative ways to get you off, to get both of us off together. We can get a little inventive if we have to."
