RP: New Year's Eve Party
Who: Public
Where: Savannah's room
When: December 31, 2010
Summary: It's time to watch the ball drop

This wasn't the party that she had imagined. She had visioned that they would be in their own house, with everything cooked to perfection, but this was something she could do and instead of worrying about what could have been, she did her best to make this as welcoming as possible.

Savannah had obtained as much food as possible from the commissary. It turned out that they cooked, so there was thinly sliced roast beef that could fold it and eat it without a knife. She had made a tuna spread to go with it. It also seemed that many of the soldiers were from the South, which meant that she could find fried chicken wings. There were also plenty of chips, cheese spreads, cheese fondue, nachos, dates, nuts, and whatever finger food she could find. There was also a chocolate fondue, cookies and pies for dessert. Soda, beer and some spumante for the midnight.

She got dressed for the occasion in a sparkly dress. There was whatever pop music they had here. She didn't know most of the singers, but she knew what she liked and what was appropriate for a party. Everything was as good as it was going to get, and they were together, and right now, she didn't think that they could ask for much more. As the night progressed, she made sure that everyone was happy and having fun (or as much as you could in such small quarter). With food, music and beer, they just needed to wait for the ball to come down at midnight.

Savannah/Morgan

Savannah was going to be the best hostess possible, so as soon as she left G, she moved onto the next guest. Morgan, her partner, the word made her giggle to herself. Really, the poor man was only humoring her, she was sure of that. She had no idea about securities regulations, computers, money laundering, or any of that.

"Hey," she greeted him with a big smile. "Are you having fun? Do you need anything? More food? More drinks? There's plenty and if you want something that you don't see, just whistle, I'm sure I can whip something up for you."

Even with her heels, she was more than half a foot shorter than all the men. She'd heard girls complain about that, but it didn't bother her. She always felt safe around big men. They were the ones there to catch her on the mat. So she put a hand on his arm for balance, and took her shoes off. "Sorry about that. I can't take it anymore. I really hate heels, although my mom always said that it was important to wear them, makes your legs and butt look better. I think they are torture and if people don't like me because of my height, then there isn't much I can do."

"I'm fine, but thank you." He wanted to tell her that if he wanted something not here, he could get it for himself and there was no reason to wait on anyone hand and foot, even when you were the hostess.

And then she was off, rambling about heels and how they made her butt look better, and good Lord he did not need to know that. Talking to Savannah was turning out to be like talking to a Penelope who was ten years younger and eighteen times as naive. The girl had a good head though, even it was wrapped up with an idiot like Marty Deeks.

"Well done the other day," he said after a minute. "I realize being on the case was not something you wanted, but you handled yourself well."

"Really, if you change your mind, don't be shy." These agent types were all tall and broody, and needed to relax.

She laughed. "Thank you, but I'm sure I could have handled it better." G's little speech about keeping an eye on them and trying to protect everyone was still too fresh on her mind to let her dislike of law enforcement shine through.

Savannah smiled and shrugged. "I'm just not used to this, any of this. Going to nationals before finishing college has been my biggest concern until I got here. We were going to make it too." She wondered how they were doing without her. Alice would have probably taken her place, and hopefully she and Marti hadn't killed each other. "I don't like guns either, but I suppose they are making us learn how to use them." She had a deal with G about that anyone, but there was a difference between being safe around them and learning how to shoot. "You have no problem with them. How long have you worked with the...something in the FBI? I'm sorry, I'm having a hard time keeping track of all the acronyms."
