Alexis laughed. "You're impressed that they were normal. I'm not sure what kind of parties you've had around here if that's your reaction. How bad were they? You can tell me. I'm strong; I can take it." She just didn't get it. She knew love was blind and age was a number, but there were limits even to that. "Maybe I should adopt your policy, because it's very strange and I grew up in New York where nothing fazes us."
She shook her head, smiling. "Why a I not surprised that you'd say something like that? You can teach me if you want, and I promise to pay close attention to both steps and repeat them in the proper fashion. How's that."
She glared at him, studying Tim as she thought it over. Something made no sense here. "I'd have thought that someone like you would have been invited to plenty of parties and by that I mean, someone that looks-" She waved a hand in his direction. "You don't even need to be popular. Things must be really different in Texas."
