RP: Eliot - Morgan - Parker - April - G - Sam
Who: Eliot/Morgan/Parker/April/G/Sam
When: very late Saturday night, 9-3-11
Where: Cell Phone, Eliot & Parker's house presuming everyone is moved into their new digs
Summary: Eliot had a s(l)ight problem.

Eliot had noticed the slight discoloration of his eyes after he'd showered that morning. He'd chalked it up to having a shitty night's sleep.

By late afternoon, when he was washing up to prepare dinner, his eyes were more red than white. He'd been working outside on the new garden and figured he'd rubbed something into them on accident. A few eyedrops and he went on with his evening.

Reading before bed, his vision grew more and more cloudy and figured his previous night's sleep had caught up to him. When he went to take a final piss, the mirror told him something was very, very wrong.

The cell was charging on the nightstand, and he had a hell of a time seeing to find the correct person on it to call. His free hand balled into an anxious fist as he waited for Morgan to answer the phone and he didn't bother to say hello. "Medical emergency. Do I go to the base hospital?"

"Cloudier and cloudier," Eliot confirmed. He went where she directed him, taking another seat. He reflexively tried rubbing his eyes. It didn't hurt, but it didn't do any good either.

"Try not to rub your eyes," April said, restraining herself from reaching out and pulling back his hands. "I don't know if it does any harm, but I would still prefer it if you didn't."

She looked into his eyes with the ophthalmoscope again, but by now she could no longer see the retnia at all. "I don't know how fast things are changing," she said. "Though I am certain that this must be your power showing, no medical condition that I know of does anything like this. If it is your power you'll figure out what it is and how to control it."

She put the instrument down in her bag. "Is there anything you need?"

Great, his 'superpower'. He snorted softly, shaking his head. He'd give a lot to be back home where the only powers came from the team working together. Since that wasn't going to happen anytime soon from what he could tell... "A beer?"

April could guess how Eliot was feeling from the sound of him, and she could understand. There were aspects of her own power which she was definitely having some issues coming to terms with herself. "I'll get you one," she said, standing up. "Get comfortable in the meantime."

When April left the room, Eliot sighed again. Really, he didn't want a power, let alone one that was screwing with his sight. He brought his hand to his eyes again, stopped short of rubbing them, and dropped his hand back to his lap. Whatever this was, it'd better fix itself soon.

No sooner had he formed the thought, he heard two short, small pops, one nearly atop the other, and then he couldn't see jack-all. His hands went right to his eyes and came away with a wetness he was intimately familiar with in his line of work. He raised his voice and probably didn't do all too well at hiding the panic lacing his voice.

"APRIL!"

She'd just taken the beer out when she heard the scream. Turning and running she didn't even notice it slip off the counter or hear it fall and crash on the floor. She was in the bedroom in seconds, and just barely managed to hold back a scream of her own.

Eliot was sitting on the bed, blood streaming down his face. His eyes didn't look like eyes any more, they looked more like grapes that had been pressed until they burst.

"We're taking you to the hospital," April announced. Record or no record, it couldn't be helped. With the amount of blood that was running down Eliot's cheeks, and the fact that she had no indication that the blood would stop coming, she needed him to be in a place where she could get access to new blood should he need it. Besides, she needed the equipment they had, there was no way she could heal his eyes (if that was even possible) with what she had here and that was not even taking into account the fact that she was not an Ophthalmologist.

She gestured to Parker to help Eliot up, then grabbed the phone and called Derek.

"The cornea on both of Eliot's eyes just ruptured, he's bleeding heavily and I'm taking him to the hospital." She didn't ask for permission, she wasn't risking Eliot's life because they wanted to be careful. As she helped Parker get him to the car, she tried not to think of whether Eliot would ever be able to see again or not. First she needed to stop the bleeding, then she could worry about his eyesight.

April hadn't asked if she could have, hadn't waited for an answer. No, she had simply made a decision and was ready to go without even thinking of the consequences or what she could do once she got there.

Derek was climbing down the stairs without even thinking, trying to stop them before they got into the car. There was also someone else who could help and there was no time for phones. If there was a time for powers, this was it. He barely had to focus now to create an image of himself and make it appear in front of Callen and anyone near him. "Meet me outside. We have to stop the Doc from taking Spencer to the hospital. His corneas ruptured, he's bleeding and it has something to do with his power. She's going there unless we can stop her." His image disappeared as he got out of the house and ran to the car. He'd better convince her to stop before Callen decided to shoot her.

By April's reaction, Eliot knew he was pretty bad off. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt. He thanked his lucky stars for that - he'd had plenty of eye injuries to know they sucked ass. Something about this developing power must've deadened the nerves or something. He didn't know. He didn't care. He went where April directed him.
