You oughta be in pictures
Winter was far from over but the teahouse was already preparing for the first spring garden party. Gardeners were regularly over to talk about plans for the grounds. There were going to be new exotic flowers, trees, statues and there was a rumor they were bringing in a menagerie of animals. Until then, tea was served in the conservatory. It was a small but welcomed distraction from the winter slump that was felt everywhere. Even the employees were finding it hard to keep up with their usual antics. Wicked, who usually had a list of schemes, was unusually quiet. Bruce couldn't help but notice she had somehow softened chalked it up to heavier food and cold weather. He hoped his new gift would chase the January blues away.
“I don’t think the crate will fit through the drawing room doors you’ll have to set it in the lobby,” He instructed the men.
Hopefully the mess he would make would be forgiven by Pepper once the employees saw what was inside the big wooden crate. And if not, at least Kitty would find it interesting. He cleared away the hay and dragged out a large table out with a large drum in the middle and a foot light attached to the side.
“It’s a Praxinoscope!”He gushed to the movers. “Moving pictures! Not my invention of course but I saw one in Paris and I asked myself why buy one when I can build one and improve on it? It’s terribly fascinating! You see, first you take a series of pictures and then you put the negatives here, while the mirrors, here and the light, here and-oh yes, of course we should set this up I’ll go to the drawing room and make room!”
