Deadpool collects specimens. For Science.
Characters: Deadpool, OTA
Location: Horizon Infirmary
Content: Brutality against space aliens.
Summary: Deadpool goes off on his own, takes an alien "hostage", and hauls it back to the infirmary for study.
The initial arrival onto the space station was confusing. Deadpool wasn't in the forward team, to disembark first and secure the docking area and the infirmary. Deadpool followed, past where more reliable SHIELD agents were holding positions to maintain their access back to their ship. He had a little pocket print-out map of the station, which he consulted every so often, and once he was sure he knew where the infirmary (HQ) and ship (escape route) were...
Now what? He hadn't been given any specific orders. Was he was supposed to wait? But then Fury would get mad at him for not doing anything, like with the attack on New York that he missed. Clearly the director of SHIELD appreciated agents who took initiative in combat.
Deadpool could do initiative.
He consulted his little map, messily scribbled in red and blue crayon to indicate the areas held by friend and foe. He was pretty confident in his ability to carve a messy swathe in whatever direction he chose, but Mr. Fury would be especially impressed if he actually accomplished something other than killing bugs. They were just bugs, right? How scary could they be?
Making note of a few potential targets, Deadpool headed off on his own along the outer docking ring, scouting ahead. The bugs were sparse, along here, but it didn't take him long to find an enemy scouting team, headed in his direction. Drawing the two swords off his back, Deadpool braced himself and grinned. Nice of them to not be carrying projectile weapons. Deadpool so preferred fighting with swords.
"Who's for sushi!" he called out, brightly. Two of the lead bugs stopped and regarded each other in confusion, clearly puzzled by the one oddly-dressed human facing a whole group of them without fear. "Well, not really sushi with bugs, is it?" Leaping forward, swords drawn, Deadpool went for the nearest bug, which sprang out of his way just in time. "What do you call that, calamari?" Redirecting his momentum as he landed, he skewered the one that had tried to escape, and beheaded the other bug that had been in the lead. "Chocolate covered ants?" One of the bugs further back made a loud cry, sounding the alarm down the corridor. "Whatever works, really. I guess anything can be eaten if you fry it up in enough butter, right?" Rolling forward, Deadpool dismembered the legs of two bugs standing next to each other, and spun in time to bisect a tail that was lashing towards him. "Don't take this the wrong way, guys, but I really hope we brought some decent food with us. Worst case scenario, I'd rather eat tribbles."
Within a few minutes, Deadpool had slaughtered the entire scouting party, limbs and heads scattered around the corridor, oozing bile. "What, no one else?" Deadpool asked, disappointed. Two of the bugs who had been rendered paraplegic were still alive, one of them screeching loudly and the other one trying to limp back in the direction it had come, towards safety. "Guess I only need one of you," 'Pool said, neatly decapitating the fleeing bug and wandering back to the screeching one. He sliced off the bug's two remaining limbs and half of the tail, making sure that all flailing and dangerous bits were gone. Then, being careful of the sharp mouth, he grabbed the remaining stump of tail, and set off back towards headquarters, with his hostage in tow.
They'd need a specimen to study, right? For science! Deadpool was doing his part with this whole science thing. And the hostage taking. Well. He glanced back at the poor dying thing leaking vital fluids all over the floor. "Hostage" might not be the most applicable term. Passing where some of the team members were guarding the barricades near the med bay, Deadpool quickly explained the situation and headed past them, depositing the near-dead, limbless corpse on the floor. "Hi, honey! I'm home. I brought you a little something!"
