I need a fix 'cause I'm going down.
Characters: Happy, OTA There's lots of people he hasn't met
Setting: Stillman Boxing Gym, early evening
Content: Nothing
Summary: Happy hangs around the old boxing gym.
It was good to be home, really home, for the first time in years. Happy got himself a little place near his old boxing gym because he didn't particularly care to live at the Avengers Tower just like he hadn't particularly cared to live at Stark's place in Malibu. That's just how he was, sort of a loner, didn't want to be around all of those people all the time. Around Pepper. Tonight he was at Stillman's. The old place was a wreck, dusty and dilapidated, a "for-sale" sign out front. Stillman had sort of stopped caring so much when his wife died a few years back and let the gym fall into disrepair. It was usually empty, but this evening some of the old guys showed up to see Happy and cajoled him into the ring with someone's nephew, a young up and comer who wanted a bout with the retired boxer. He'd already got in a really good hit and Happy had to laugh it off to save face. Happy was fast, but not as quick on his feet as he used to be. When he took another hit he gracefully bowed out and opted to watch the kid fight one of the other guys. The teasing only lasted a few minutes before his old friends were all occupied by the new match and Happy could lean back against the wall, sipping a Styrofoam cup of water, with an aching jaw and a nice bruise rising on his cheek. Yeah, it sure was good to be home.
