Setting: Outside S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ, and in the city

The blame for this renewed fixation was unclear. Unclear as Tony made it to be, anyway. He learned well enough that he was the only one that could chose, for himself, to detatch himself from an addiction. This was an idea he had dedicated many years of his life to understanding. That didn't meant this was a rule without exception. Tony could very happily blame Pietro for something. He could just as happily blame the charming woman in the turtleneck who was just desperate for a light. Because, very obviously, he wouldn't have started smoking again if it wasn't for Pietro, and it would have been a wasted opportunity to leave this blue-eyed beauty and her turtleneck out in the cold alone.
Anyway, he could get over it if he wanted to. So noted, he had those years of experience. An addictive personality meant you eventually had to develop the tools to deal with addiction, reason would dictate. Tony had a fucking arsenal. He was, after all, the modern world's leading crafter of tools.
He had her laughing in seconds, he had a tool for that, and blushing in a few more, another tool, and in minutes he would have extracted her phone number and wired and nagging infatuation that would have her waiting by the phone. Tools.
This fixation Tony gladly owned. After all, there was no shame in appreciating a beautiful face, even if he forgot the name that went with it. What was important was that they felt appreciated for a totally, exhaustively, unforgettably fulfilling night, or quick duck into the bathroom. Whatever seemed prudent. Then, Tony didn't really have the time to give her the attention she deserved; he had an appointment, after all, and another after that. A quick cigarette break wouldn't hurt, though.
