Embattled
Characters: Everyone. This post is as open as Tony's bedroom door.
Setting: Evening/Night/Wee hours of the morning, Stage 37/The streets/Wherever you wake up, New York City/The Moon
Content: Swearing. Nick Fury. Tony only makes two women cry.
Summary: Stark Enterprises invites you! To get really fucked up in support of ClassACT! Because they like giving money to children so they can hire them later! And embarrassing themselves in the process! It's a party, kids! Exclamation!
Outside, a reporter had caught Tony with a shout: "And what about the Hulk?" It was the first time he turned, flashing the herd of photographers their money shot of a smile over his shoulder, barely squinting in the flash of a thousand bulbs. "Do I look worried?" he'd called back, and that was it; he was inside.
It was the newly opened, stark and industrial warehouse space of Stage 37, all dark concrete with shots of bright colour in the fabrics where New York City's wealthiest, most notable, or most interesting lounged and drank their cocktails and bumped knees with each other, attire a rainbow of bespoke finery to second-hand findings. Stark Enterprises benefits always dredged up the best turnouts. Tonight's benefit was for ClassACT, supporting the nurturing of technology and the arts in children across the globe, and the party was thrown with a suitably creative flair. It was mostly open-invite; the only requirements for entrance were a discreet donation or an acquaintance with someone in attendance. Nothing stopped the giggling teenagers from buying their way in to see the array of musical entertainment lined up, but the open bar was a little more strict.
The building shook with the driving noise of hammered drums and an electric guitar with the kind of energy only New York locals could muster on stage, and in the dim light Tony disappeared into the crowd.
[ooc: I don't plan on being here much, so you better mingle because Tony doesn't like to throw a disappointing party. Get to know each other! Find new friends! Get into trouble! But you better not have any fun.]
