Stopover
Characters: Billy and Teddy for now
Setting: The fancy new living arrangements for the boys, New York
Content: Aliens and demon soul fragment mutant dream children! So, nothing new.
Summary: The boys settle in and catch up, and try to avoid being kidnapped
If they were awake early enough, which they weren't often, they would hear a soft knock on the door. Teddy, for several days, thought this sound was coming from across the hall, always at 7:45. Teddy, for several days, came to find it rather irritating. He was 18. He had nothing better to do and no commitments in this whole universe. He was allowed to sleep well passed 7:45 without interruption-- in fact, he was fairly certain he needed to to survive and develop properly throughout his teens, and a bit into his 20's, if he could swing it. Your brain was still developing then, right?
Today, it called for investigation. Teddy needed to know the source of this unwelcome wake-up call, as chilly as the morning air was and as warm as that downy bed and Billy's back were. Arms wrapped tightly around his stomach, shoulders hunched against the cold, he padded across the carpet to bounce up on his toes and peek through the peep hole, careful not to touch the door in case it gave away his presence.
He was rewarded with the sight of a young woman with a notepad in the hotel uniform turning her back on their door and moving on to the next. What? She almost jumped out of her skin when Teddy suddenly jerked the door open.
Breakfast. That was worth being woken up before noon. You could only have breakfast before noon. And it helped your brain develop.
