Hard work spotlights the character of people-
Characters: Kurt and Calvin, later Kurt can talk to Kitty
Setting: X-Mansion
Content: Nothing questionable
Summary: It's time Calvin starts earning his keep
Things were getting back to normal around the X-Mansion. Or as normal as things could be in a school full of pubescent mutants. Students who had left to be with their families during the zombie ordeal were returning and, between Kurt and Kitty's efforts, enrollment was up for the term of actual classes that would be starting in a few weeks. Several students and hardly enough teachers and, at the moment, only three X-Men to speak of. Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters had certainly seen better days, but Kurt had a way to alleviate some of the burden by recruiting (in a manner of speaking) and new teammate and maybe, through that, a new teacher. Despite the fact that the candidate in question was a former mutant terrorist with subversive ideals and an apparent addiction to pornography. Well, beggars couldn't always be choosers.
The man in question, though a very questionable man, had gone out of his way to save Kurt's life (a fact that he hadn't let Kurt forget since they'd returned from Genosha) and it wasn't something he could take lightly. For all of his initial reservations about the ex-Brotherhood member, Calvin had managed to earn Kurt's trust. Now, Kurt had decided, it was about time the man started earning his keep around here, too. He found Rankin exactly where he'd expected to find him; lounging around the main living room in front of the t.v. Kurt stood behind the couch for a moment and then threw a leather suit with an X across the chest into Calvin's lap. "It is high time you started to make yourself useful, mein freund," he said.
