And 'cause I can, I'm gon' go west-
Characters: Wanda, Jessica, Jan, Kitty, Wicked, Sitwell, Natasha, anyone I forgot
Setting: New York then Las Vegas
Content: Shenanigans
Summary: Jessica needs to forget and there's really no better place for getting your mind of things than Vegas
"Vegas," Wanda said the moment Jessica opened her apartment door. She had an overnight bag slung over her shoulder and grin on her face that only dimmed slightly at the sight of her friend. She had to keep her spirits up in order to keep Jessica's up. It had been a rough several months and there was only so much horror, so many bad things that one could handle before they reached their breaking point. Still, there were always ways to pick yourself up after a fall and Wanda's answer to Jessica's setback was Vegas. She knew there wasn't much she could do to help her friend's situation because even magic wasn't going to mend a broken heart but Jessica said she wanted to stop thinking about it and Wanda would try her hardest to oblige. The best thing she could do, she supposed, was just be there for Jessica. Lately, neither of them had been especially good about that, but there was no time like the present to start. "Get a bag packed. Everyone's meeting us outside your building in twenty minutes."
'Everyone' being Janet, Wicked and whoever they were bringing along. The more the merrier, as far as Wanda was concerned. More people might mean Jessica would have less of a chance to mope- you couldn't mope in Las Vegas, it just wasn't right. Of course there were still things to do in New York, real life to contend with, but the most difficult and imperative tasks were finished and the rest was just getting back on track. That could wait for just a few days; everyone deserved a break, especially when the world had almost ended. This was an opportunity to celebrate the fact that they were all still alive at all and maybe enjoy that life a little. Wanda worked out the details on the fly, invited their mutual friends and booked hotel rooms which were, surprisingly, not remotely cheap. Apparently once people realized they weren't going to die, after all, quite a few of them fled to Vegas in order to adopt a new outlook on life that meant gambling and drinking away whatever they had left in this world. Not a terrible philosophy given the circumstances and one that might be fun to ascribe to for a day or two. At the very least Wanda hoped that the trip could pull Jessica out of her slump. That was really the whole point of this venture.
