Books might just be the solution Who: Brodie and Sydney Where: Homer's Study When: At about 8:45pm
Doing things voluntarily, and being forced to do them are two very different things. If, in the first few days of the cruise, Brodie gladly stayed in his room the whole time, such was not the case now. He'd been locked in his room for nearly two days, depressed and in pain, but unlike before, he really did not like the reclusion. Simply because it had sort of been forced upon him by external influences.
After the cheering up session provided by Jamie, Brodie found himself alone and with the 'depression' creeping in again. Jamie's drumset t-shirt was probably the best thing ever...But only after his own drums. And without Jamie around to take his mind off of it, his ribs and his drums were all he could think about. Well, that and the sheer boredom of that place. He had even finished reading the poetry around the room by now.
Reading. Now there was a good thing to do to distract him... If only he hadn't finished reading every book he'd brought with him, along with the poetry. Brodie remembered hearing something about a library on the 4th floor; it was probably worth checking out. Slowly, he made his way down there - not by stairs, obviously - and once he walked into Homer's Study, he felt in awe for the second time today. It was a beautiful place and, as usual, the decorations were the most amazing thing about it. Apart from the vast collection of books, that is.
Brodie approached one of the shelves, already having some fun in searching for something good enough to provide deep and full absorption into what he read; because he really needed that, right now. As Brodie surveyed the books he thought about what genre he was in the mood for, because only after deciding on that could he decide which book helped him better with the full absorption thing. Of course searching for the perfect book had already helped with that quite a bit...
