Savannah sort of wanted to say, no, she didn't feel any better whatsoever. It certainly wasn't holding back tears that was her problem, in any case, and a short cry wasn't going to make her siblings come back.
But, after examining the evidence, she was surprised to learn that she was, in fact, feeling a bit better. It was just a smidgen, but, right now, a smidgen was enough to make a difference.
"Yeah," she told the other woman hesitantly. "Yeah, I guess I sort of am." Then, after a second, she said again, "Thank you."
