Savannah had shaken her head, too, at the mention of tea. She didn't want anything right now -- her stomach roiled in response to the dizziness from earlier, almost as though it had moved from her head to her stomach.
"I just don't want to be in the way," she informed the other woman, voice quivering. "It seems like I'm always in someone's way..."
Eve wanted to help her, but probably from nothing more than pity.
But, suddenly, pity was enough for Savannah, perhaps because there simply was no one else who cared enough, for any reason, to help her. Tears welled up in her eyes, pricked by Eve's sudden kindness.
