"No!" Savannah's eyes flew open in alarm at the mention of food. Of course, her eyes had to close again immediately to counter the sudden rush of the world at her face. "No food," she clarified a moment later when her body had reoriented itself.
Cautiously, she opened her eyes, and was relieved to find the world, too, had righted itself.
Visibly, she relaxed, although she shook her head one more time to emphasize that she didn't want any food. She was paler than ever now, the blood having drained completely away from her face during the course of the dizzy spell.
"I don't feel well," she added belatedly, as if that were an excuse. It was the truth, or part of it, anyway. Her stomach was doing flip-flops. Even if she wanted to eat, she could keep nothing down.
