It was easy to understand that this girl had been far, far away from there even as Eve spoke. She couldn't help but wonder if the incidents from New Year's Eve had had anything to do with the state the girl was in now, given her red eyes and absolutely desolated expression.
Eve was taken aback by her apologizing and getting ready to leave, because that was not what Eve was aiming for, in the least. She noticed the girl limping as she stood up, and Eve held her by the shoulders.
"No, no!" Eve gave her a sad, but polite smile. "That's not what I meant at all! I asked if you're feeling well, because honestly, you don't look peachy." Eve slowly sat her back down.
