Unlikely as it was, Eve needed to think. What about, she wasn't quite sure, but she just had the sensation that she really needed to just sit down and assess herself. Hopefully, while catching some air.
Eve had been inside way too much lately and she knew it was bad for her, too, so it was only natural that she had chosen the deck outside to assess some things. Somewhere along that cruise, it had become a turning point in her life. She didn't know whether it was because of a new year, or because it was a sort of pit stop on the way to a 'grown-up life' of job searching and bills to pay; it had gotten to her.
Then, there was Jack, but Eve didn't exactly want to assess that too. She really liked him, that was pretty settled within her own mind. It didn't mean anything complicated. Or if it did, Eve didn't want it to, right now.
Eve had located a somewhat secluded area of the deck, and that's where she planned on staying for a while - hours if need be - staring out at the ocean. But then, she noticed someone half-sitting, half-lying there. It was the look on the girl's face that really got to Eve, though. Apathetic, though she did look a little bit hurt, and like she wasn't even all there anymore.
"Um..." Eve scratched her neck before continuing. "Are you okay?"
