Who: Jason, Cami, & Alli When: Just before midnight Where: Their room: I-1003
Looking at the clock and smirking slightly, he nudged Cami gently with his elbow and nodded down at their daughter sleeping in his arms. "Two minutes left and she conked out on us; what a wimp," he joked playfully, dipping his head down to kiss Alli's head.
New Years Eve. Normally, this was one of Jason's favorite holidays. Champagne was rampant and it meant a guarantee of a kiss at midnight and a fresh start the next day. This year was, however, grim. At least it was for Jason. This would be, Jason tried not to remind himself, Cami's last New Years Eve with him. Doctors had given a four to six month prognosis and that was already a couple of weeks ago. Pushing that thought from his mind was the only thing Jason could do. That and make it worth Cami's while. Make the last few months the best she'd ever had, even if it killed him on the inside knowing just why.
"You want me to put her down so we can ring in the new year right?" he asked with a grin, cocking his eyebrows suggestively at her. He didn't, of course, mean what the look would suggest, because he didn't ask for sex anymore. It only served to make him feel like an asshole and Cami feel guilty when her body wasn't up to it. Instead, he always waited, now, for her to initiate. The look, though, was playful and he knew she'd know it. He wouldn't, however, turn her down if she did feel up to it, that was for sure.
