TIME UPDATE [02 Jan 2009|02:55am]
DATE: Saturday, December 26th, 2009

WEATHER: Hot and sunny!

EVENTS: The Nausicaä leaves port at 9 AM without a hitch. Each passenger (or party of passengers) are checked in and shown their room by a crew member, and then left to settle and do what they will. Staff have spent the past few days learning the ropes and are already familiar with the ship in some way. Everyone is invited to dinner at Circean Delight tonight, where the captain is expected to make some sort of welcoming speech. Bon voyage!

avoiding a headache [02 Jan 2009|03:03am]
[ mood | annoyed ]

who: azi and open
where: helios deck-near the railing
when: late afternoon

Azi wasn't necessarily a morning person. Most of the work he did was late at night, around 3amish, and so mornings weren't his thing. Therefore it wasn't until after noon that he wandered out of his ridiculously lavish room to seek out something resembling sunshine. It took him a while too, which was gently irritating him, but then he hadn't been in the best of moods to begin with, what with having to have been checked in early. Which required coherency of some description.

His annoyance was also due directly to the fact that he'd been locked in his room the entire time since arriving, trying to decipher every ward that happened to be there. What they were for, where they were from, if any of them clashed and cancelled each other out, if they were even done correctly--so he'd been at it for-fucking-ever. He'd dropped off eventually but he still had some shit to try and figure out. He was just giving himself a bit of a break before he went back to it. It was that or give in to the headache that was threatening. He wasn't especially happy to be bogged down with a headache just yet.

So he was pausing for a smoke, and a look around. Which had turned into a smoke and a lean-on-the-railing, and much less anything ambulatory. Either way he was paying spectacularly little attention to anything or anyone around him, and he was merely looking out over the expanse of ocean, letting his mind wander.

in the zone [02 Jan 2009|03:38am]
Who: Keane, Res, and open!
When: Late morning
Where: the Olympia deck, then the sports deck on Helios

Having had days of rehearsals and orientation, the day of the cruise launch felt like it had been their first day off - even if it was the day after Christmas. Their band not having any performances for the day, Res had immediately dragged Keane off to have a little fun. Staff or not, this was still their vacation too! They'd spent way too long looking at all sorts of shiny shit on the ship they couldn't play with, so it was time to play. This had resulted to acting completely juvenile in the video arcade for a good hour, and then heading upstairs for a game of put-put.

Keane was – per usual – happy to be dragged wherever Res chose to drag. Truth was he felt a little keyed up himself, and was happy to finally indulge. He and Res were at their best when they got to act like the mental twelve-year-olds they were. He grinned over his sunglasses at the girl as he waited for her to take her final turn. "Tell me something, is taking five minutes to line up each shot part of your strategy? How about the part where you shake your ass like a cat about to pounce?"

"Not now, Chief, I'm in the fuckin' zone." Res replied, taking a moment to point at him. That said, she did finally take her swing, finally sinking her ball. "Oh yeah! I have conquered the world with my little blue ball!" she shouted, as she began her victory dance.

Grinning at her display, Keane shook his head at the girl and slung his arm around her neck. As was customary, he chose not to say what he was really thinking – if anyone was conquering anything with blue balls, it would always be him. "You know, batting a thousand isn't actually a good thing in golf."

"This doesn't take away from my victory." Res replied. "Where to next?" Occasionally she did let the boy have a say. It was possible she'd just been a little overexcited this morning. It was a nice break from the regular.

"Don't people usually mingle on cruises?" Keane asked, not that he had any problems with his current company. Regardless of what he was saying, he was still heading them off towards the stairs. "Or relax, and generally try not to conquer the world?"

"That just wouldn't be us." Res dismissed. "I like our way of doing things better. Besides, I'm too white trash to know what you're supposed to do on a cruise."
