Who:Anyone in NYC
What:50s themed Ice Cream Party!
When:The night after the chat
Where:Rachel and Kurts Apartment
Rating:N/A
Status:Open to all/threading

Although the idea had started out randomly, it had seemed like so much fun! So they had run with it, and she was really looking forward to having everyone over for the night. She knew it was going to be a lot of fun. She had gone out with Kurt earlier to pick up the stuff for their outfits as well as to stock up on Ice Cream, drinks and anything else they might need.

She had spent a while getting ready after she got home, because even a party at her own apartment required her to look good! It was essential. She had managed to find the dress she had found online the night before and when she had put it on, she felt amazing. She loved it! She checked her reflection in the mirror, smoothing the dress and admired the fabulous hair and make up job that Kurt had done on her.

She set about making sure everything was ready, everyone should start arriving soon and she couldn't wait!

Hearing the knock at the door, Rachel hurried over to answer, sliding it open with a grin, she saw her friend and the grin only widened, "hey bumble bee!" she greeted, she didn't really know where the nickname had come from, it may not last long but for now she thought it was cute. "I'm so glad you're here, come in!" she exclaimed, stepping aside to let him in, waiting until he was inside to close the door behind them. "Your timing is perfect, all the work is pretty much done, so you can just sit back and start relaxing and hopefully the others will be here soon!" she said.

Noticing his hands were fully, she chuckled to herself, "can I help you with some of that?" she offered, reaching to take the bottles from him so that she could set them on the counter, she didn't want him dropping them or anything.

"Thank you, thank you." Blaine had immediately let Rachel take some of the weight from his arms but not before leaning in to press a quick kiss to her cheek. He was old fashioned in a lot of ways and his etiquette was definitely one of them. "I know you probably both have everything covered already but I couldn't resist bringing a couple of bottles of pink moscato. And some records I picked up at this really amazing second hand music store I found in the village."

Despite Rachel telling him to relax, Blaine made a beeline towards the kitchen. He still had flowers for the host and hostess and he wanted to help, or as Kurt would say, "get in the way."

"I got these for you," Blaine said, holding out one of the bouquets to Rachel, the other saved for his fiance. Blaine still couldn't get used to saying it. It had only been a few days but part of him never thought he'd actually be engaged and it still tickled him to think about it. "These are for Kurt, too. I thought they'd help lighten the place up." He laid Kurt's flowers on the counter and immediately turned towards Rachel. "Did Kurt get my record player? Need me to get it? There's got to be something I can do to help."

"Aw, Blaine, you didn't have to do that," she said, taking the flowers with a smile, smelling theme briefly. "These are beautiful," she told him, leaning in to kiss his cheek before setting them on the counter for a moment while she put out the other things he had brought, sliding the wine into the fridge to chill. "Can I get you something to drink?" she asked him, "I already opened a bottle of white?" she offered, grabbing a glass for him.

"You need to relax," she told him with a chuckle as he seemed intent on finding something to do. "You're a guest tonight, you should just be enjoyng everything!" She smiled, "but if you really need to do something, you could put those beautiful flowers in a vase for me?"

"I can do that," Blaine gave a little salute to Rachel before he went to the cupboard that he knew housed the vases. He had spent enough time at Rachel and Kurt's (not to mention all the flowers he had brought upstairs over the last year) that he knew right where to go to find what he needed. It didn't take long before Blaine had both arrangements in water. He also couldn't help but pat himself on the back a little. He was no florist but the flowers did look pretty nice once he had moved them about the vase so the colors complimented each other.

Finished, Blaine pressed both of his hands against the small kitchen counter and lifted himself up to sit on it. "So I was thinking, if you'll let me, I could plug my ipod in to your stereo. I have a pretty fantastic mix of Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Little Richard, Richie Valens and Sinatra. "

"Thank you sweetie, they're gorgeous," she said, smiling at him when he hopped up on the counter, she leaned on the one across from him and listened, nodding, "sure, that's no problem," she told him. "What did you think, I would yell at you and say only I got to choose the music in here?" she joked, though, probably most people would expect her to say that very thing. She could be quite specific about things. As they stood, she went to the fridge to retrieve the bit of cookie dough she had stolen earlier when the boys were baking, and brought it back, breaking a piece off and popping it into her mouth and offering some to Blaine.

"You better save a jive for me," she joked, referring to the popular 50's dance, jokingly doing a hand jive movement at the same time.

"Well Rach..." Blaine never could pass up a chance to tease his friend, especially when she left herself wide open for a quick little jibe about the music.

Blaine broke his own piece of cookie dough off the small log Rachel held out and looked at it a minute. "You ever hear that old myth that, if you eat raw cookie dough, you could get worms? Oh well, bottoms up." Blaine popped the bit of dough in to his mouth and laughed around the sweetness as he chewed it up.

"Oh hush," she laughed, "and yes, I have heard that but it tastes way too good to care," she said, "and you're mean tonight, just so you know," she told him, pretending to pout a bit. "I think I am literally going to be the only completely single person at my own party, is that completely lame?" she asked him with a grin as she sipped her wine

"Oh you'll care if you're not able to go to school because you're busy sitting on the porcelain throne." Blaine's comment was a bit cruder than he would usually speak to one of the girls but he didn't care. At least not right now. All he wanted was for Rachel to laugh.

Blaine continued to steal bits of cookie dough from Rachel as he listened to her. He could sympathize with her single plight. Sure he was engaged but it didn't change the fact he lived with two single people who had shared their feelings with him before and he remembered all too well what it felt like when he and Kurt had been apart at the beginning of the year. "You'll never be single, single though. You'll always have me. And Kurt too. We'll always be here."

She laughed, "a day of no classes and you think i'd complain?" shejoked with him, grinning brightly. He did always manage to get a smile from her, it was why he was one of her best friends.

She smiled at his words, it was a sweet thing to say, and honestly, she wasn't unhappy, she didn't think it was possible to be when you had friends as amazing as she did. Sometimes she just missed having that person who woulld give you a hug and a kiss and make you feel like everything was fine. But she knew she could always turn to Kurt and Blaine, at least for the hugs. "I know you will," she said with a smile, "it's why I love you both, but don't let Kurt hear you, he might get jealous," she joked.

"I don't believe you'd miss classes. Who are you fooling," Blaine and Rachel always fell in to a comfortable tit for tat with each other. He knew it was because of everyone in the glee clubs he had been a member of, she was the one who's end goals most mirrored his own both professionally and academically.

Blaine listened and watched as Rachel flitted around the small, make shift kitchen and communal living space of the loft. Rachel and Kurt had thought of everything. It was when she came back in earshot of him that he spoke, "You know, I missed this. You, I mean. I'm so glad I have you, Tina and Kurt here. I didn't realize how much I missed you until right now."

She looked up at him and smiled, walking around to the same side of the kitchen as him and wrapping her arms around her friend in a tight hug. "I missed you too, and i'm so glad you're here now," she said honestly, pulling back after a moment. "I know I tease about you always being here and tell you to go to your own apartment and all those kind of things, but I hope you know, I never mean them. I love having you around, and I wouldn't change it for the world."

"Well... " Blaine had been meaning to have the whole living arrangement conversation with Rachel and Tina. Artie had been talking about moving in to the dorms recently after struggling to get back and forth from school to the flat. As it turned out, NYC wasn't exactly hand-capable regardless how advanced they were with their facilities. "Um... so I haven't talked to Tina yet about this but...I was thinking, maybe the four of us could room together. Since Santana left there's room and... well, its Tina. I love her so much and Kurt. I just want to be greedy and be around all of you all the time."

Rachel listened to what Blaine had to say, she hadn't known Artie had been considering moving into the dorms. It made her a little sad that their friend felt like he couldn't live in the apartment because it was difficult to get around but she did understand. "Well, if Artie does decide to do that, then I don't see why it would be a problem," she said with a grin, she wouldn't mind at all living with 2 more of her best friends. "We'd have lots of fun!" she said and it was true, they both knew that.

"I was hoping you'd say that. I just..." Blaine took a deep breath, "I need to talk to Tina. And Artie. I'm so selfish. I just can't understand why he'd want to leave but then, I've never been limited like he is. I can't imagine not being able to get around. It has to be torture."

"I know, I don't know why he would want to either, and you shouldn't make him think he has to," she warned kindly, because it could come across like they wanted rid of him if they told him the plan to move everyone into one apartment should he move out.
