Who: Joanna and Kurt
What: Hospital visit!
Where: Hospital Wing
When: Thursday, September 20, after classes
Warning: N/A

As soon as she was let out of class, Joanna ran to her room and grabbed her bag of snacks. She then ran to the kitchen and pestered the elves for fudgicles. As soon as she got them, she dashed for the hospital wing, wanting to get there before the desserts had a chance to melt.

"Kurt!" she called out, smiling. She spotted his bed and skipped over, holding out one of the cold, frozen treats. "Here! I brought over a ton of other stuff, but we don't want this to melt."

"Glad I could help," she giggled. "And glad you're feeling better. I heard what happened and it's all awful." She frowned, kicking her feet a bit in the chair.

"How- how bad were the injuries?" she asked, biting her bottom lip. "Sorry! I don't mean to be nosy, I'm just curious!"

"A few broken ribs. Those hurt the most. I have a bunch of stitches that will scar." He huffed, touching near his hairline. "It's fine. I'm just glad to have someone to talk to doesn't dominate the conversations like Stiles."

"Can we use makeup or a spell on the scar?" she asked, looking at it. Then she beamed, grinning at him. "Oh! What about a tattoo? Something cute!

"In the meantime, have more chocolate! It's got milk in it, and milk's good for bones, so it should help you heal faster!" She looked earnest about what she was saying, like she believed it herself.

"Dear Merlin woman. No tattoos. Make-up will have to do."

"That's the best excuse for Chocolate ever." He took another chunk of the one with nuts. "Alright. Now tell me about glee."

Joanna pouted in her seat. "I could have made a cute tattoo too," she said, finishing off the ice cream. She took a double fudge ball then and popped it in her mouth. She seemed to perk up at the mention of glee.

"Oh yeah! S'genderswap week! Gotta sing a song by a guy! I don't know what to do though. You wanted to do something by Aria? Whozzat?"

"An aria is a type of song mos commonly sung by female leads during an emotional peak in the production." Kurt sighed at her.

"Hmm... you should do something that speaks to your emotions."

"Oh! I thought- well-" Joanna blushed, embarrassed. "Well, you know. You would do well singing an aria." Her blush turned a deeper red. "I didn't mean that in a bad way! I mean that you can do really emotional singing by a woman." Her face was red as a tomato after that. "Not that I mean you sound like a girl! I just mean- I'll shut up now."

She took another fudge ball and shoved it in her mouth. She let the rich taste of chocolate calm her down. "Something that speaks to my emotions? And it's gotta be sung by a guy? Huh... I'm not sure what to pick."

"Calm. I have a lovely countertenor and sing in the female range. Of course I sing emotive female leads well." He shushed her fussing.

"Well... How about something by the beatles?"

She smiled, her face returning to its normal color as she nodded at him. "Oh, well, that's good. Wow, this week really would have been perfect for you."

She blinked, then gasped. "Oh! The Beatles would have some great choices! I always liked Here Comes The Sun!"

"Well there you go!" He grinned, excited for her. "You can practice here. I'll give you pointers."

"Really?" She beamed. "Can I even play my bass? I can get it real quick! Well, I can do without it for now. Wait- did you mean now?"

Nodding, Joanna took a deep breath and let it out slowly. It always felt nerve-racking when starting to sing. She closed her eyes, smiling as she sang, "Here comes the sun (doo doo doo doo) // Here comes the sun, and I say // It's all right..."

Once she got over the first part, she opened her eyes and sang, her voice a bit low to match with George's original tone. She was trying to mirror how he would have sang it and didn't make it her own. When she finished, she took another breath and couldn't help but giggle.

"So, what'cha think? I know, needs some work and could be way better, but how was it?"

"I like it. But don't try to force the lower range. I'd suggest bringing the whole piece up an octave to accommodate your voice."

"You really think I could make it work like that?" she asked. "Should I try it again?"
